Transporting the : students has been satisfac tory with the bus being on time and student conduct has been good. The meals have been ready for the students and they have been served within afewmin-utes. afewmin-utes. Students generally have been polite and orderly. There have been an average of 32 students eating lunch at the elementary school. ; This is about 18 less students eating lunch than when served at the high school. The sandwich service provided pro-vided students at the high school is serving between 15 and 20 students each day. No problems have developed with this program. At the present time there have been two contacts made to the principal requesting the program return to the high school, one parent and one student. The lunch workers work-ers indicate there is little change from their other program pro-gram and they seem to be satisfied. The program was intended to be on a two month trial basis. This evaluation must be made in January. Mr. Pettey also discussed the fact that the Melvin Brad -shaw family have been taking their five students out of school to sell Christmas trees. The Board considered the matter and asked Principal Princi-pal Pettey to write a letter informing this family that no release will be given after this year for the purpose of selling sell-ing Christmas trees. This letter will be followed by an- . other letter from the Super intendent. Principal Alfred R. Marshall, Mar-shall, of BHS, then met with the Board and gave his evaluation evalu-ation of the football season at Beaver High. He indicated that the cost of participation in the State Football Tournament Tourna-ment cost $587.20 more than was received. He said he could stand the loss this year, but not for two years. He said that he had received a donation dona-tion from Karl Myers of $100 to help defray the costs and expressed great appreciation apprecia-tion for a citizen to make such a donation. The Board then went on record as helping help-ing to the amount of 50 of the deficit. Principal Sherman W. Carter, with four sixth grade pupils, Gregg Tuft, Julie Kesler, Scott Yardley and Sydney Marshall, expressed their thanks for authorizing them to attend the Hansen Planetarium, in Salt Lake. They also visited the State Capitol building and had a fine learning experience. Letters written by the stu-. stu-. dents telling of their appre-cation appre-cation were presented to the Superintendent. The Artists-in-school program pro-gram at Minersville School was reviewed and it was generally gen-erally assessed that the school district received value val-ue for the amount of money involved. The bill of $1560.00 for the program was then approved. Supt. Haslem informed the Board that Alder Construction Construc-tion Company had a crew down to repair the floor at Milford gymnasium. Since they anticipated that the floor could not be used forlO days, Principal Pettey didn't feel that the gymnasium could be tied up that long because of the basketball season. The crew went back and will return re-turn to replace whatever necessary, ne-cessary, the last part of March, after the basketball season. A study of the peak loads of power being used at Milford Mil-ford High and Milford High School gymnasium were reviewed. re-viewed. Another study will be presented to the Board by Utah Power and Light Company next month and this should give the Board information infor-mation it needs to act on the proposition of consolidating consoli-dating meters. The proposed Master Agreement, as updated during dur-ing negotiations in the summer, sum-mer, was then reviewed by the Board and the changes made from the present agreement. agree-ment. Special note was made that the deadlines for initial evaluation of the teachers will be made by December 1 5th of each ye ar and the final evaluation by April 15th. After Af-ter full discussion of the mat- ter by the Board, James A. Mayer moved that the Board approve the agreement. |
