Show 0!$ MINERSVILLE " Daisy GUItas - Ph. 386-21 1 Sunday afternoon at the school house the Goddess of Liberty was chosen from a group of girls. Each girl told What the 4th of July meant to them. While the judges were deciding, a short program pro-gram was given by the girls. A musical number was sung ; by Lacy Marshall, JWle Carter and Jody Eyre. A reading was given by Valerie Wood. Chosen to reign for the 4(h celebration was Lacy Marshall, the daughter of ; Lee and Lynnea Marshall. She was crowned by a former form-er Goddess of Liberty, Jill Albrecht. The attendants are: 1st, Jody Eyre, daughter ; of James and Ranae Eyre; 2nd, Katie Holllngshead, daughter of Marshall and Nellie Holllngshead. The other girls will also ride on ; the float. They are JolynDot-son, JolynDot-son, daughter of Ruben and E mily Dotson, Valerie Wood, daughter of Noel and Dorothy Wood, and Julie Carter, daughter of Dean and Dona Carter. Punch and cookies were served afterwards to the cmwd present. Ralph and June Pearson, Fay and Betty Marshall and Bill and Frieda Wood all went to Richfield Saturday evening to a retirement party par-ty for Clyde Larson at the Lions Park. Mr. Larson has been with the Soil Qonserva- a birthday party Wednesday to celebrate her being nine years old. Theo Marshall accompanied accompa-nied Bill and Pie Garrett and children of Delta on a trip to Nebraska to visit Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Kim Marshall. They were gone for a week. Keith and LaNell Dotson had LaNell's father, Cecil Wardrope of Superior, Wyo. as a visitor for a few days last week. Jack and Joy Kirk and fam -ily of Calif, visited Keith and Shirley Holllngshead and Lois Holllngshead for a - week. Also visiting the Hol-llngsheads' Hol-llngsheads' is a friend, Cor-rine Cor-rine Marie Mlklosonlc of Los Angeles. Vlnie Carter and Jeannlne Bohn of Las Vegas visited relatives on day last week. Saturday visitors of Clarence Clar-ence and Wanda Corbridge were Penny Richardson and two children andher mother, Mrs. Sessinger, all of Ridge-crest, Ridge-crest, Calif. Also at the Corbridge Cor-bridge home were Mr. and Mrs. Duard Evans of Mil-ford Mil-ford and their granddaughter Barbara Smith and baby of Pleasant Grove. Darwin andVivian Marshall Marsh-all and Newell and Theo Marshall were in Tooele on Friday to attend the wedding of their niece, Debbie Out-zen, Out-zen, daughter of Mack and Connie Outzen. Speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday afternoon were Kendall Eyre and Kay-leen Kay-leen Carter. A song, "I Am A Child of God" was sung by Colleen Truman, Kaylene Eyre, Kathrine Carter, Jan-ette Jan-ette Hollingshead and Callie Anderson. Prayers were given by Lew Griffiths and Darwin Marshall. Marcine and Sylva Davis are visiting their children Doug and LaNae Thomas and family in Calif. Mr. and Mrs. George Banks and family of Salt Lake visited Thursday and Friday with their grandmother, grand-mother, Armina Banks. Frank and Drucella Carter Cart-er went to Kearns Thursday to attend the wedding of their grandson, Kyle, asonofVerl and Bonnie Holdaway. Dan and Eva Davis were in Salt Lake over the weekend visiting Eva's brother, Heb-er Heb-er Murdock, who Is still in the Veterans Hospital. Page Gale, daughter of Bryce and Jean Gale of Beaver, Beav-er, visited a few days with her grandparents, Ruben and Emily Dotson. Richard and Sue Limb announce an-nounce the birth of a baby girl born July 1st. The little miss has two sisters and a brother at home. Bill and Lettie Gibson traveled tra-veled to Payson Monday to visit Bill'sbrother,Ray, who has suffered a heart attack. Darlene Yardley, Provo, Is here visiting her father, Van Davis, and other relatives rela-tives for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Carter, Glen Canyon City, visited over the weekend with Ellis parents, Horace and Madge Carter. Earl and Phyllis Tanner, Santana, Calif., are visiting friends, Ted and Dorothy Carter for a few days. Grant and Blanche Pryor had friends from Arizona visiting them for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence (Glenna Davis) Donahue of Garden Grove, Calif, have been visiting with Howard and Gwen Pryor. Glenna is Howard's cousin. Bill and Frieda Wood went on a short trip down to Lake Powell and from there they . took a boat trip up the Colorado Colo-rado River to the Rainbow Bridge. : - Milton and Reva Albrecht and Jill and Russell motored to Fremont on Saturday to attend an Albrechtfamily re union. Gary and April Elmer and baby, Pocatello, spent the weekend in the Beaver Mts. Sunday evening the Elmer family of Milford and the Dotson family of Minersville enjoyed supper with them. LDS FIRST WARD PLANS PARADE FESTIVITIES JULY 24th Milford will have a parade par-ade on July 24th, when the Milford 1st Ward takes charge of the annual Pioneer Days festivities. All businesses, organizations organiza-tions and individuals are urged to have a float, according ac-cording to Shirl Nichols. Other games and races as well as a free swim are planned. Mr. Nichols did not know whether there would be a fireworks display. |
