J LITTLE KIDS playing with matches and fireworks were the cause of this fire which destroyed this shed and its contents, just behind the fire hall Tuesday Tues-day noon. The shed belonging to Clinton Clin-ton Myers went up like tinder, the heat catching the fire siren tower and the old fire hall down the street ablaze. We are an advocate of the return of firecrackers to the Fourth. We feel that they are dangerous, and need earful im ar.V-.-r.- . -JK 4 -ii:.JL .TCSU supervision by parents, but we feel that sparklers and other so called safe and sane fireworks are no less dangerous danger-ous and should be in the hand of youngsters young-sters only with supervision. It's true that the possibility of losing a finger is not as great, but more lives and property prop-erty are lost with the safe and sane pretties of the Fourth than with those that make a bang. A sparkler, burns at over 900 degrees. |
