Show MILFORD YOUTH SEES POPE PAUL; FEELS EARTHQUAKE William C. Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Myers, serving serv-ing with the Armed Forces in Turkey, ' recently had two unusual un-usual experiences, one harrowing har-rowing and the other pleasant. Young Myers was present when Pope Paul VI visited religious re-ligious shrines in Turkey, and also felt the first of the several sev-eral serious earthquakes which devastated parts of Turkey. He was not in the area where major damage resulted from the temblors, but wrote his parents that it "was quite an experience . . .a very unusual feeling." Pope Paul visited the ancient city of Ephesus, now only ruins and rubble; made a private visit to the last home of the Virgin Mary, and the chapel built on the hill over St. John's tomb. Mr. Myers was present when the Pope arrived by plane from The Vatican in Rome. |
