Show PRYOR STORE I ROBBED LAST WEEK A pair of very selective burglars burg-lars broke into Pryor's Merc at Minersbille sometime Friday n:ght or Saturday morning, and carted off more than $1,000 worth of merchandise. Stolen were a 30.06 rifle, two i .270 rifles, and a .308 rifle, one 1 with scope mounted and sight- ed in for a customer. Also 20 j to 25 boxes of 30.06, .270 and -303 ammunition, four pair of i women's shoes, a pair of men's cowboy boots, dozens of towels and wash .rags, about a dozen children's dresses, 28 pair of children's Levis, and about a dozen pair of ladies' nylon No groceries were taken; other clothing was undisturbed, and several shoe boxes with contents were scattered on the floor, evidently while the burglars burg-lars were selecting the sizes they wanted. Also, cases of ammunition and about 12 other rifles and shotguns were not touched. Entry was gained through a rest room window, and the locked rest room door was pried open. Howard Pryor had purchased the store from his father, Frank Pryor, on July 5th. Mr. Pryor's nephews from Arizona, visiting their grandmother who lives a half block from the store, heard the Pryor dogs, penned in a "run" back of the store, barking bark-ing viciously during the night, but dod not call their uncle. The burglary was investigated investigat-ed by Sheriff Jay Gillies, Deputy Dep-uty Sheriff Eddie Patterson, and State Highway Trooper Joe Benson. |
