Show GUY WHITTAKER SUFFERS FATAL INJURIES FRIDAY Funeral services for Guy Merrill Whittaker, 63, who died Jan. 3, 1972 of injuries suffered in an industrial accident on Dec. 31, 1971, will be held today to-day (Thursday! at 11 a.m. in the Milford Ward Chapel. Mr. ' Whittaker was injured while working at the Mayer Bros, potato pit, loading potatoes. pota-toes. He was crushed and suf-. suf-. fered. multiple rib fractures when a truck which was backing back-ing into the pit caught him and squeezed him between the truck and a upright support post. He was taken to the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital but complications of pneumonia aided by the injuries, severely worsened his condition and his heart and lungs gave out. Guy was born Sept. 1, 1908, in Circlevill-e in Piute, County, to Arthur and Mczetta Smith Whittaker. He married Phyllis Page on April 20, 1937 in Junction, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He was a farmer by trade but in recent years had retired and was a frequent visitor along Main Street and voluntarily took care of the custodial work at the Milford City Library. Survivors are his widow, Phyllis, daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Margaret Ann) Miller, both Milford and son. Macke Page of Johnson City. Tenn.; four grandchildren, a brother, Rex-ford Rex-ford i.n. Circleville, Utah. Friends call at Southern Utah Mortuary Thursday, two hours before services. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery. |
