Show Revenue Sharing Monies Chopped The Milford City Council got a rut'e shock when they were informed M .nday night that they were only receiving a little over $9,000 in Revenue Sharing instead in-stead of the $12,000 they had budgeted. Tlie reason for the shortage was not known and the Recorder Record-er was instructed to write a letter let-ter and try and find out what had happened. The Council held in abeyance approval of a .sewer hookup for Bill Cook and denied his proposed pro-posed water hookup. They approved ap-proved application for both sewer sew-er and water in the Mountain View Estates subdivision and approved ap-proved Rc.rf Wunderlich's plan for hooking sewer and and water wa-ter to his new home in that area. Some discussion was had and a letter from Bruce Mayer, acting act-ing City Attorney, was read on the liablity caused by the state highway being raised on Main Street to the point that during periods of rain a.nd high water, water runs into some 'business houses and the curbs are not abje to carry it off. Norm Thompson and John Hardy were asked to attend a meeting of the Highway Planning Dept. in Cedar City on Monday, August 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the SUSC Music Building Recital Hall. Editor Wilson asked that they also request at that meeting that the state consider an all-weather road between Cove Fort and Milford and extension of Highway High-way 257 from Milford to Mo-dena Mo-dena which would be a great benefit to truck traffic through Utah to the south. Councilman Thompson reported re-ported that he had received several sev-eral complaints about people watering all night and on the Pool Halls being allowed to remain re-main open extra hours one night of the Centennial. J. R. Hardy said that he was still attempting to find some one to fix the steps on the library li-brary before someone gets hurt on them in their dilapidated condition. He said that electric heating had been ruled out at the library and that he would have the stoker repaired. There was considerable discussion dis-cussion about the mosquito problem prob-lem and they authorized $1200 for spraying of the sloughs east of town to help control them.
