August 9 98 51 August 10 100 63 August 11 99 68 August 12 94 66 August 13 .... 84 53 1.01 August 14 77 53 .17 August 15 . . 83 54 .05 The drought in Southern Utah was finally broken Sunday Sun-day August 13 when 1.01 hundred hun-dred hs inches of rain fell and drenched the area. .89 hundredths hun-dredths of an inch f-ll during one 32 minute period on Sunday, Sun-day, causing water to pile up in plugged or clogged storm drains, and backing up high enough to enter several Milford business houses, as well as many local basements. With .17 Monday and .05 o; Tuesday the precipitation sincp October 1, 1971 is 6.97 inches compared to 6.77 last year to the same date. This however does not reflect the true picture pic-ture of the drought situation, since heavy rains last fall and winter brought up the total, while only 1.74 inches was recorded re-corded during the first seven months of 1972. |
