Show School Board Adds Ten Mills To School Budget another classroom at Milford High School and that the baseball base-ball field be completed. It was moved that the district fence and provide backstops and dugouts dug-outs for the baseball fields at Beaver and Milford. Dr. Bliss discussed Educational Education-al TV C-7 with the board. He said that the signal in Miners-ville Miners-ville and Milford is pretty good and steady, but in Beaver is eratic He said that the staff of KUED had indicated it would cost $1,300 to provide an adequate transmitter for the Beaver area. The board agreed to participate if the Beaver City Council will participate. Bliss reported that the Utah Symphony would not play in Milford but would play ir Beaver. The superintendent's salary will be discussed at the Budget Hearing. Norman L. Lamb moved that the board approve an overnight camp at Big John's Flat for the summer classes in Biology in Milford and Beaver. The school board examines budget for 1972-73 and sets a public hearing on June 28, 1972 to hear it before interested parties at 7:00 p.m. according to the minutes of the meeting. Ten mills were added to the budget for capital improvements, improve-ments, perportedly to build a new gym in Beaver. The gym, a steel structure" would be built now in Beaver and later when it is paid for, one would be built in Milford. The proposed budget shows a 10 mill increase in taxes for capital improvement. Other business included: Scheduled next regular meeting meet-ing in July to be held in the Milford Elementary School on July 12th. Authorized advertisement for bus drivers for Milford. The board met with Mr. Paul Theobald, representing the Beh-len Beh-len Buildings, which are steel buildings. He acquainted the board with the construction of the buildings which his company com-pany produces for gymnasiums. He gave a preliminary estimate esti-mate for a 120 ft. x 120 ft. x 24 ft. high building of $29,329 plus $3,500 freight, plus windows in entrance that would cost about $600 and insulation at 3Gc per square ft. Teacher contracts approved were Ina Mae Harmon for Milford Mil-ford Elementary School Special Education, Robert (Bob) An-clrus, An-clrus, for Milford High School Football Coach, Carolyn Mur-dock, Mur-dock, Beaver High Srhool Girls Physical Education. Authorized paint and repairs ; for the Milford home. Discussed with State Highway Engineer the installation of yel. low warning and flashing lights on Highway 21 near the Elementary Ele-mentary school. The engineer recommended against lights and said the district would have to pay the light bill and also the) personnel to police the flasher area (Milford City has agreed to pay the electricity and asked the boards help only on a patrolman.) pa-trolman.) Raised the admission for athletic ath-letic activities from $1-00 to $1.25 per ticket. Authorized the elementary schools to charge an activity fee.
