Show MVFD CALLED TO TWO FIRES The Milford Volunteer Fire Dept. was called out twice last week after a long spell of idleness, idle-ness, which has been welcomed by all who feared that the arsonist ar-sonist who was at work last summer and fall would cause bodily injury before he was caught. The fire Friday brought with it, suspicion that the fire bug might be back in town, as it involved an isolated potato pit at the edge of town, which has been the subject of the firebug's fire-bug's work before. No evidence has yet been found but investigation investi-gation is still underway. With this in mind, it was almost al-most a relief to see Jeff's Merc, truck burning when the Dept. was called Saturday, with the obvious cause and explanation readily at hand. Tommy Mcintosh, driving the dump truck, tried to get too close to the edge, and dropped the hind dual wheels over, catching the trash in the bed on fire, which spread to the cab. Quick action by the local dept. saved the truck with only minimal damage to the cab and the loss of the rear tires, so it seemed on immediate inspection. |
