Bliss reported that it was Very difficult to hire teachers teach-ers for Milford, because they didn't want to come to Milford. Karl Truman asked the Supt. about a teacher who had contacted con-tacted several of the Board members requesting an opportunity oppor-tunity to teach in the system. The teacher had reported back that they had been told at the District office there were no vacancies. Truman and Bliss exchanged some words, with both threatening threat-ening to resign. They talked to the parent and Principal Rowley and then upheld the dismissal with only Yardley dissenting. A Preventive Maintenance Project was passed. It allots $4-$500 for Milford High and $7-$800 for Milford and Minersville Miners-ville grade schools. The Board reaffirmed its decision de-cision to look at Steel Stran building as gym structures. The Supt was instructed to handle the pop machine at Milford Mil-ford High. He was also authorized to attend at-tend the convention in San Francisco. settled. Norman Lamb, Milford Board member requested that applications appli-cations on all teachers be brought to the board by the Supt. before being hired so the board will know the person per-son before hiring. It was noted that in order to meet reapportionment, all board members would have to stand for reelection. The board approved Washington's Washing-ton's birthday as a school holiday holi-day and will take one day of the Christmas vacation to make up for it. A motion by Yardley that |
