Show DEMOS SWEEP COUNTY, STATE, NATION In a nation-wide landslide Democrats were swept into office of-fice last Tuesday, and Utah's entire state government will be Democratic starting in January. Jan-uary. The Democrats captured the governorship, all major state offices, and control of both the Utah House and Senate. Lyndon B. Johnson was elected President of the United States by an overwhelming popular vote, and captured 468 of the electoral votes, to 52 for Senator Goldwater. Frank E. Moss defeated Ernest Ern-est Wilkinson to retain his U S Senate seat, and Laurence Burton, running for reelection as First District Congressman, was the only Utah Republican to win a majciy race. In Jleaver County, Jack C. Mahoney defeated, incumbent S. Albert Smith in the i-ace for State Representative, and the two.
