Show BELL TEL BOOKS NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC FOR NEXT SEASON The widely acclaimed New York Philharmonic Young People's Peo-ple's Concerts, with Leonard Bernstein conducting and narrating, nar-rating, will be sponsored by the Bell System next season on the CBS television network. Gerald Vickers, Beaver County manager for Mountain States, said the series of four taped concerts will originate in Philharmonic Hall at the Lincoln Center for the 1 Performing Per-forming Arts in New York City. The first broadcast date of the four concerts in prime evening time will be Saturday, Nov. 7, at 5:30 p. m. MST. The Bell System will continue con-tinue to present its other good-music good-music television series, the Bell Telephone Hour, live and on color over NBC-TV on alternate al-ternate Tuesday evenings at 8 p. m. Since the Premier of the Young People's concerts in 1958 the series has received many awards, including two Emmys of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, two Ohio State Awards, two Thomas A. Edison Foundation Awards, and two Saturday Review Awards. |
