Show HUGE RATTLER KILLED HERE ...IN DECEMBER Folks who live in Milford have decided we should never be surprised at anything that happens here, but Ralph Thompson and Warren Fernley came up with a startler last Saturday. Hunting for cougar sign in the Pinnacle Pass area of the Mineral Mountains, Ralph ran into a 36-inch rattler, fat as a Santa Claus, sunning himself on the rocks. The temperature was 24 degrees in Milford, but high on the mountainside above the fog, Ralph estimated the temperature at about 60 degrees. de-grees. Anyway, the fat buzzer wa3 laying on the rocks absorbing the sunshine, and after sending Fernley back to the car to get a gun, Mr. Thompson shot the head off the snake, and cut off the rattles 12 of them to display dis-play in Milford. Never be surprised at anything any-thing that happens in Milford including shooting a 36-inch buzztail with 12 rattles in December. |
