Show MERLE CARLSON DIES IN OGDEN Mrs. Merle Pitchforth Carlson, Carl-son, 59, Ogden, died Tuesday morning in an Ogden hospital of natural causes. Mrs. Carlson taught for 15 years at Roosevelt Junior High School, Salt Lake City; was a" former Milford High School teacher, and was a teacher at Highland Junior High in Ogden Og-den at the time of her death. She was graduated from the University of Utah in 1925 and was a member of the National Education Association, American Ameri-can Association of University Women, Utah Education Association, As-sociation, and the Ogden Education Edu-cation Association. She was a member of the LDS Church. Mrs. Carlson was born June 28, 1904, in Milford, a daughter of Harold H. and Hannah Hartley Pitchforth. She was married to Harold Victor Carlson April 1, 1939. in Salt Lake City. Surviving are her husband; a son, H. V. Carlson Jr., Ogden; Og-den; a sister, Sarah E. Banning, Ban-ning, Berkeley, Calif.; and two' brothers, S. E. Pitchforth, Milford, Mil-ford, and Lee L. Pitchforth, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p. m. Friday in the Lindquist & Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, Ogden. Friends may call at the chapel cha-pel from 7 to 9 Thursday and Friday one hour prior to services. serv-ices.
