Show kw't By the Journalism Class f Milford Hitrn School Mrs. Mary McCulley, Instructor JUNIOR PROM Beautiful, enchanting, and even magnificent were the words used to describe the Junior Prom, presented by the Class of '64. The decorations consisted ot blue and gold crepe paper and foil, used in many eye-catching surroundings. The theme of the Prom was "Southern Memories," with both the north and south ends of the gym decorated to carry out this theme. The entrances were fixed to represent the ramps of an old River Steamboat. The center of the ceiling was a large oval, covered with gold foil and having small Italian lights arranged in it, with a "Poaring Twenties" revolving m'rror-ball hanging from the center. The orchestra pit was a pier-like setting with a River Riv-er Silhouette as a background and ocean waves rolling in. It was a truly beautifully decorated gym, and a Prom that the Juniors can be proud of. FHA BAKE SALE The girls in F H A had a bake sale last Friday, and sold cupsakes and candy in the halls and out on ine lawn of M H S at noon hour. This has been the second time they have sold the cupcakes cup-cakes and candy. The purpose of this project is to increase their funds for buying a trophy case. TIGERS FARE POORLY IN DIXIE TRACK MEET It's going tob e a long track season, so far as the Milford Tigers are concerned. All of the Cats' hopes just about fell through last Saturday as the Tigers took last place in a field of 18 teams at the Dixie Invitational. Milford's lone point came when Bob Rollins placed in the discus event. The Tigers' big problem is lack of . participation by the students. If more boys will come out and participate, Mil-ford's Mil-ford's track hopes would improve im-prove greatly. STUDENTS PROBE EVENTS OF HISTORY Contrary to popular views, history isn't all that's taught in history classes. Mr. Long is giving all his history students stu-dents a special assignment. He's having them combine their knowledge of certain phases of history and their English background to come up with a good history theme. These themes will not only give students better knowledge of history but also a useful experience in formal writing. RED CROSS PROJECTS The High School Red Cross will again be rolling this coming com-ing week in completing their final project of the school year. The second week in April has been selected by the Council Coun-cil to begin preparing Hogan Kits for the Navajo Indians, and gift boxes for children in other lands. Because of the success of their previous projects they should have enough money to finance this worthwhile project. proj-ect.
