By the Journalism Class f Milford High School Mrs. Mary McCulley, Instructor JOURNALISM CLASS TOURS NEWS OFFICE Milford's Journalism class, under the direction of Mrs. Mary McCulley, Journalism teacher, went on a guided tour of the Beaver County News office. of-fice. The student tour was led by Steve Williams, editor of the Beaver County News. Steve showed the class all the machines ma-chines in his shop and how they worked. But the one ma- TRAVELING ASSEMBLY The MHS Traveling Assembly displayed many talents Friday March 29, when it was presented present-ed to the student body. The assembly traveled to Beaver, Millard and Delta earlier ear-lier in the month and had good reception at each. This year the assembly wa? j under the direction of Marsha ' Smith and Mr. Ronald Hansen, and Denny Wright acted as master of ceremonies. There was a variety of numbers including in-cluding the dance band, a Many long hours of preparation prepara-tion and planning have been spent by the room mothers in preparing for this relaxation, after the hectic Prom Week. The party, an annual Junior event, will be attended by the Juniors and their partners , and the Seniors and partners participating par-ticipating in the Promenade. MILFORD REPORTER HAS U N ARTICLE PUBLISHED Each year a Model U N reporter re-porter is chosen from the Journalism Jour-nalism class. This year's reporter re-porter is Elaine Posey, daugh- student of M H S and had the right to vote. The outcome of the elections: elec-tions: ' For President: Ken Elmer and Doug Fowles. For vice-president: Betty Lou McCulley and Vicki Og-den. Og-den. For secretary and treasurer: , LeeAnn Erickson and Jonniel Aagard. STUDENT CONVENTION A statewide convention was held in Salt Lake for teenagers teen-agers from all over Utah. The combo, vocal numbers, piano duet, pantomime, and modern dancing. Much preparation and effort was put into the organization of this assembly, and it wa:1 thoroughly enjoyed by all wh viewed it. SENIOR CAR WASH The Seniors are going to sponsor another car wash next Saturday, from 10 a. m. to 4 p m. The two students from Milford Mil-ford who attended were Lee-Ann Lee-Ann Erickson and Ken Elmer. In the near future these students stu-dents will report the highlights high-lights of this convention to the' student body. All of the students in the Journalism class were assigned to write an article on Ethiopia with Miss Posey's article beinf selected from the many othei outstainding articles. Elaine's article was published in the Model U N Observer Salt Lake City, on March 22 The paper is mailed to all the schools of Utah which participate partici-pate in the Model United Nations. Na-tions. Her story will be published in the next issue of The Beaver Beav-er County News. PRIMARY ELECTIONS A student body card and r sharp pencil, plus the ability to make a wise decision were all that was required to vote in the primary elections. ; After campaigning for over a week, March 29 determined the success of their posters and candidate cards, and also the candidates for the final elections elec-tions to be held on April 12. The student body card was required to be shown before receiving a ballot. This was to prove that you were legally a chine that impressed the clasr the most was the new Scan-ar graver. The class was impressed with all the machines and also with the way the News Office operates. oper-ates. DIXIE INVITATIONAL The boys in track are practicing prac-ticing diligently to be ready for the Dixie Invitational Track Meet at St. George Saturday, Sat-urday, April 6.. The MHS track team will participate in this meet, along with other Southern Utah and Nevada schools. Milford has a very determined deter-mined squad this yeart doing a lot of hard work, hoping to qualify for the State Meet. This time will also participate in the B Y U Invitational track meet the latter part of April. JUNIOR PARTY The Junior Class will hold a party after the Junior Prom in the high school lunchroom. |
