Show METHODIST CHURCH BUILDING IS PROGRESSING DESPITE WEATHER In spite of the severe weather, weath-er, work on the new Milford Methodist Church has been continued throughout" the winter win-ter months, and construction of the new $30,000 edifice is about half completed, according to Rev. Lynn Holmes, pastor. Ground was broken for the building in the early spring of 1961, but actual construction started in the early fall. The church will be 75 ft. long and 28 ft. wide, with two floors. Included will be sanctuary with seating for"-100 people, four classrooms, a large kitchen kitch-en and an 18 by 50 foot dining hall, large storage area, rest rooms and church offices. Timber arch construction is being used, and the entrance will have a veneer of native Beaver County marble. Methodists first began meeting meet-ing in Milford in 1894, but a church was not organized until January, 1907, with 14 members. mem-bers. Today the church has 60 members and a constituency of 150. Construction will be completed com-pleted in the early spring, Rev. Holmes said. Contributions from members are financing the project. |
