Show Forest Clean-up Starts On East Fork Slash burning in the East Fork area of the Beaver River will begin this week. A timber sale there on the National Forest For-est lands involving nearly one million board feet of lumber is nearing completion, and the slash disposal job is underway. Several inches of snow is on the ground in the area and burning can iww be done safely. safe-ly. The Forest porsonell wish to thank everyone for having been so careful with fire this summer. sum-mer. Due to the care everyone had for the Forest this summer there has been a relatively low fire year and much fire has been averted. Well controlled fires have a place but wild fires destroys watersheds, timber, wildlife and rangelands. |
