Show E. R. MOODY DIES IN SALT LAKE Edgar Roily Moody, 64, died at 8:30 p. m. Sunday in a Salt Lake Hospital of a heart ailment. ail-ment. He had been a teacher and principal in Sevier, Millard, Beaver and Tooele Counties. Mr. Moody was a graduate of Brigham Young University and also had done post-graduate work at that school, the U of U, and U S U. He was bom March 26, 1897, in Deseret, to Willam Warren and Alice Sabrina Cooper Moody. He married Emma Floy Sorensen Sept. 8, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. . She died Nov. 21, 1959. Mr. Moody came to Beaver as principal of the Beaver High School in 1936, and in 1938 transferred to Milford High, where he served as principal prin-cipal for four years. In Milford Mil-ford he was very active in civic affairs, and was the instigator in-stigator of the planting of 1,000 trees in the city. In association as-sociation with the late D. E. Kirk, he helped organize the construction of the Milford fairgrounds, race track and grandstand. He had been active in LDS Church work. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday in Provo, and burial was in the Provo cemetery. The services, by special request re-quest of Mr. Moody, included a talk by Melvin S. Wittwer, former Beaver County Super-intnedent Super-intnedent of Schools; talk by J. C. Smith, former president of the Beaver County Board of Education; tribute by Mrs. Ardath Outzen, close friend of the deceased, and vocal solo by Gale Elmer, former student of Mr Moody while he was principal of the Milford High School. |
