Show THIS WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By MRS. EMILY GILLINS Mrs. Mary Ellen Mathews, who was 89 years of age on January 2, has been confined to her home the last three weeks, due to illness. At present, her health is slightly improved. im-proved. Mrs. Daisy Gillins has been making mak-ing several trips to Parowan to visit her father, whtf has been very ill. Mr. Jensen lives at the Parowan Rest Home Paul Crane, son of Mrs. Ramona Hayward, who was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Armina Banks, and who has been living in San Diego, Calif., is spending the winter win-ter here. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Puffer visited vis-ited Monday with their children, Mrs. Reva Williams and Mrs. June Marshall, and their families. Bob Nowers of Beaver visited Sunday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marshall. Mr. Nowers expects ex-pects to attend the National Cattlemen's Cat-tlemen's convention in Dallas, Tex- as, January 25. Mrs. Armina Banks was hostess vrecently at a party in honor of her foirthday, guests being Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter and Mr. and Mrs. VjEllis LeFevre. f Mrs. Lucy Williams had Mrs. T:iilina Carter as a luncheon guest te day last week. i Mr. and Mrs. Frank Decker of Parowan enjoyed dinner Sunday with Mrs. Madge Carter. Mr. Carter Car-ter is in California on business. Norman Banks is in Salt Lake City, seeking employment. Mrs. Loretta Myers was substitute substi-tute teacher in the Minersville school Monday and Tuesday, taking tak-ing the place of Bishop Marshall Hollingshead. j Mrs. Thurman Eyre was hostess to members of the Eyre family in honor of the birthday of her husband. hus-band. Those present for delicious refreshments and a delightful period peri-od of visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Eyre, Mrs. Nellie Eyre, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eyfe. Miss Susan Marshall hostessed a surprise party at her home in honor hon-or of a girl friend, Miss Mary Lou Bradfield. Those present were Nicky Dotson, Neal Carter, Heber Davis, Kent Marshall, Erma Jean Blackburn, Pamela Davis, Jackie Bonner, Jeannie Dotson, Susan Gillins, Gil-lins, and Miss Bradfield. The group fixed dinner and spent the evening dancing in the basement to record music. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bradfield were guests Sunday at a nicely arranged ar-ranged dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Griffiths of Phoenix, Arizona, visited overnight over-night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Heslington. A turkey dinner was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bradfield Wednesday evening of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Yount in Milford. Karl Truman this week met with an accident that could have proved tragic. He and his companions were cutting through a sheet of metal 16 feet long and, as they completed the cut, the end jabbed into the top of Karl's hand. He was fortunate the two middle fingers fin-gers were not severed. Miss Marilyn Wood was Beaver nntintn'e ontm in the Ma Vp-Tt-With- Wool contest, sponsored by the Woolgrowers' Association and held in Salt Lake City last week. Miss Wood enjoyed the experience and was awarded a small gift. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers were week-end visitors in Las Vegas. |
