Show the Beavers at Beaver High. The Tigerettes have been invited invit-ed to participate in hal'ftime entertainment en-tertainment on the 24th, and appreciate the first such opportunity oppor-tunity in several years. This is busy week for the Pep Club as they prepare for this important game and the Tigeretet - CubEtte sponsored "Fashion Show for Polio." The girls will feature clothing from local merchants and Christmas-gifts, Christmas-gifts, with the event taking place at 7:30, Thursday, Jan. 23. Scheduled for Saturday evening, eve-ning, Jan. 25 is the big annual Tigerettes "Preferred Tiger'' ball. Prices are 75c for couples and 25c for extra ladies, with everyone being invited to come and find out the identity oi Mil'ford's, Preferred Tiger. Model U N team tryouts were held Tuesday, Jan. 21, with students delivering speaches as members of the People's Republic Re-public of Rumania. Candidates anxicusly await the outcome, which will be announced later. Milford High students and delegates del-egates alike will be privileged to hear Maurice Warshaw of the Utah Association for the United Nations on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 2:30. Added attractions attrac-tions to game-time excitement were the performances o'f the three pep clubs. The visiting Millard Selgae skillfully pre sented a modernistic dance formation and the Tigerettes, resplendent in new, bright uniforms, uni-forms, demonstrated something different in synchronized marching. march-ing. Activities were held for the first time between halves of the "B" game, with the CubEttes doing the honors. But stealing the show from both the march-ling march-ling groups and cheerleaders was Mascot Christie Marshall, cheering the Tigers to victory, in striped ruffles. M H S is looking forward to I Friday, when the Tigers meet The long-awaited results of the Mill-Ford royalty contest were finally announced preceding pre-ceding the Freshie assembly Friday. Yearbook King is Jimmy Jim-my Skillicorn, and Queen is Genevra Mcintosh. Prince and Princess are Brad Weston and Kay Root. Thursday evening was the date for the meeting of both Honor Societies. The Secunda Honore convened in the school library to elect officers and set a permanent time for future gatherings. Officers elected were Margaret Ann Whittaker, president; Kerril Sue Rollins, vice president; Kay Root, secretary. sec-retary. The group has tentatively tenta-tively decided to meet in executive execu-tive and plenary sessions the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Senior Honor Society members mem-bers met at the home of Shir" leen Shields to discuss plans for an induction ceremony and a project to aid in the "Teen Against Polio" campaign. Activity Ac-tivity outlined was a matinee stocking dance successfully held Tuesday, Jan. 21. Prizes for most highly decorated stockings stock-ings were awarded to Tommy Walker, Georgia Smith and Joy Miller. Milford High students were entertained last Friday by the antics of the Freshmen. A "baby show" was the theme of the hilarious assembly. Garbed in appropriate clothing, the babies were Pat Morford, Dennis Miller, Mil-ler, Robert Rollins, Dale Gillins, Gil-lins, Clark Dalton, Joyce Brink-man Brink-man and Sammy Belliston, carefully attended by Nurse Jeniel Davis, who passed out lollipops. Contest judges were Darrell Roberts, Carl Briscoe and Allen Mahoney with Fred Miller as prize-winning baby. |
