Milford should shine again, 'fairly soon. Milford High's newest student stu-dent group, the National Honor By RENEE NORTON Veterans Day, 1067, at M H S was really an event. American Amer-ican Legion Post No. 16 direct-i direct-i ed the observance on Monday. A highlight of the day was a parade led by the Legion Color Guard carrying the National and Legion colors. They were Society Chapters, have selected for official titles: Prima Honore (Senior chapter), and Secunda j-Ioncre for the Junior High group. They are awaiting approval ap-proval by the national organization organiza-tion oi their newly drawn 'institution. 'in-stitution. Seniors are scurrying around like mad, racking their brains for ideas that may be developed into the class assembly and dance scheduled for Nov. 27. We wonder if some of the performers per-formers will be literally carried car-ried away by their art again this year. First term report cards were received with mixed emotions by M H S students last week end. Further reports were given giv-en to parents in the Parent- . teacher conferences, Wednesday afternoon. followed by the Tigerette officers, offi-cers, displaying the new school banner, and by the school band, complete with baton twirlers and majorette. This parade, thru the business district and j back up to the school, was the first Veterans Day parade for I several years. I Following the parade, the SI student body enjoyed a patriotic ' assembly, also sponsored and n conducted by the Legion. The well-planned program was initiated ini-tiated by presentation of the Colors by the Color Guard, and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Post Commander A. J. Kirk, i who directed the program'. J M. Hughes, post chaplain, gave the invocation, and C. Homer Ho-mer Christensen the beneclic- Ition. Speaker for. the occasion was Past District Commander Steve Williams, who opened our eyes to the vital role of education in j America's future and the worthwhile worth-while program of the Legion in assisting and promoting the i training of American youth. 1 Appropriate additions to the i assembly were musical num-i num-i bers capably rendered by Mrs. j Shirley Fisher and the band. j Last week M H S was highly ! honored by a visit from Con-!
