Show Items of Interest About People You Know MR. AND MRS. ALVIN SKIL-LICORN' SKIL-LICORN' announce the marriage of their daughter, Janice, to Mr. Elmer El-mer Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Barnes. The marriage ceremony was performed per-formed in Caliente, Nev., Aug. 27, - in the presence of the couple's - parents. The newlyweds were honored Ti.ursUay evening at an open house at the home of Mrs. Fay Brad-field, Brad-field, with Mrs. Skillicorn and Mrs. Barnes ps hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Westergard are buildisg a new home on North 100 West Street near the Dave Erickson home. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hanley have returned to- Milford after spending the summer out of town. Mr. Hanley has been working in Salt Lake for the U P, and - Mrs. Hanley and five children spent the summer in Victor, Idaho with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Johnson. She came to attend funeral fun-eral services for her grandmother, Mrs. Edna Thompson Mecham, in Minersville last Thuesday, and remained re-mained in Milford for several days' visit at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson. Eugene Wright and two sons of South San Gabriel, Calif., spent the week end in Milford, visiting Mrs. Ray Thompson and son Brian and taking side trips to scenic points near here. Mr. Radtke will continue his vacation trip to the northwest, returning to Milford Mil-ford Sept. 10. Pam Martin, daughter of Robert and Elaine Martin of the San Bernardino Ber-nardino Valley, is spending a week in Milford with her grandmother, Mrs. Nettie Kirk. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elmer will leave Friday for a week's visit with Mr. Elmer's brother, Ernest Elmer, in Boise, Idaho. The Eastern Star held their first meeting after the summer recess Tuesday evening in the Masonic Temple. The occasion was also marked by a dinner given in observance ob-servance of Mr. I. Altman's birth anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Mr. Hickman sold his Milford home to Heinecke Brothers, miners, min-ers, and is living at the Forgie Apartments. Neal Wise has left for St. George to enroll at Dixie College. He left early to start practice with the Dixie football squad. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Wooden and son Mike have been visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Dave Sy-mond. Sy-mond. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Myers have moved into their newly built home on West 600 South street. e Mr. and Mrs. Gary Anderson have returned to Milford for the winter. Mr. Anderson will continue con-tinue as Milford LDS Seminary principal. They are living in the former Homer Christensen home. 9 Sir. and Mrs. Calvin Winn, newlyweds, new-lyweds, have moved into one of the Clay Apartments. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson are living in their trailer house at the Beard Trailer Court until they can find a suitable home. Mr. Johnson John-son is music teacher at Milford High. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting ire now living in one of the Hughes Apartments. Mrs. Lillian Fotheringham has moved into one of the Kohler Apartments on Main Street. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Calkins have purchased the home of Mrs. Edith Osborn. Mr. and Mrs. LuDean Barnes have purchased the Dale Morgan home at 715 South 100 West street. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Steely have moved into the home they purchased pur-chased from R. H. Ruth on North 100 East street. The Steelys had been living in the Board of Education Educa-tion home on Center Street while Elementary Principal and Mrs. Edlefsen were out of the city. Gordon Murdock and two sons Rodney and Jody of Santa Rosa, Calif., have been in Milford this week. They will leave Friday and Gordon will take back' with him his two saddle horses. e Miss Janet Ogburn of Cuba City, Calif., is spending a while with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock, before entering college in California. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cline left Wednesday for a vacation trip to the Northwestern States. Their daugher Harriet will attend college at Boulder, Colo., this winter. Craig, Kevin and Brian Gillies have returned to their home in Pocatello, Idaho, after visiting in Milford with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay have re-urned re-urned from a two week vacation trip through Northern California. Stops were made at VictorVille to visit Mrs. Clay's brother, H. M. Carling; at Oxnard at the home of their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mount; and in San Francisco where they visited another son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David F. Anderson. Pastor Clifton Calkins returned to Milford last week end after a week's Seventh - day Adventist school conference held in Northern North-ern California. Dennis Calkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Calkins, who is serving serv-ing with the U S Army at a hospital hos-pital in Denver, and friend, Miss Sandra Belden of Washington, D. C, were here for a week visiting visit-ing Mr. and Mrs. Calkins. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Westergard and three children of Salt Lake spent several days of their vacation vaca-tion in Milford with Dale's brother broth-er and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. James Westergard. They were in West Yellowstone during the recent re-cent earthquake but left after the tremors. While here the two families fam-ilies enjoyed trips to the Utah Parks. ' Blair Coon left Tuesday for Southern California to find a new location for his family. He will be employed there by the Union Pacific. Dr. and Mrs. Fred Cottrell of Oxford, Ohio, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tribole and son of Bountiful for a visit in Milford with Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Tribole. Dr. Cottrell was en route to Berkeley, Berke-ley, Calif., where he will teach a gerantology (study of old age) class to a group of professors. Sunday evening of last week Bill Cottrell, son of Dr. Cottrell, and wife were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Tribole and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cottrell. The young couple were touring the West on a honeymoon trip. Friends, neighbors and members of the family called at the home of Mrs. Mildred Coon last Tuesday, to congratulate her on her birth anniversary. Mrs. F. C. Scott of LaGrande, Oregon, is a guest at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Blair Coon. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Coon and family motored to Helper Sunday to help celebrate the birth anniversary anni-versary of a grandparent, Mrs. Martin McPhie. Douglas and Steven James of Magna spent three weeks vacation with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Mills. They returned re-turned home last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kenneth Munk, parents of S. K. Munk, and former Milford residents, spent last week visiting their son's family and old friends in Milford. They also motored mo-tored to Manti and Salt Lake to visit other relatives before returning return-ing to their home in San Pablo, Calif., about Sept. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Alvey and children of Boulder spent Friday and Saturday at the home of Mrs. Alvey's brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Munk. The two families and Bonnie Easton and boys enjoyed a trip to Lehman Caves Saturday. Mrs. S. K. Munk spent Sunday afternoon in Salt Lake. |
