Show Moss Sees FCC Okehing Boosters The possibility that the Federal Communications Commission may reverse itself and allow TV booster boost-er stations on a permanent basis was seen today by Sen. Frank E. "Ted" Moss. The FCC has announced June 30 as the new deadline of its order I of last Dec. 31 and has agreed to review "the legal and technical aspects as-pects of the problem," Sen. Moss said. The studies will include possible pos-sible new legislation to amend the Communications Act. The Commission's action cams after introduction of a Senate concurrent con-current resolution by a group of Western senators including Mr. Moss. The resolution expressed the sense of Congress as supporting support-ing authorization of the boosters, and urged modificatuion of the FCC policy. "I feel that this latest order means that boosters will be approved ap-proved for permanent use, at least in most areas," said Senatof Moss. "I will continue to work with my Western colleagues and with the Commission to assure television reception at reasonable cost to all areas of Utah," he said. |
