Show ; yi.-J Thorpe Waddingham Thorpe Waddingham Seeks Seat in Senate Thorpe Waddingham, Milford Mil-ford native who is now a practicing prac-ticing attorney at Delta, has announced his candidacy, on the Democratic ticket, for Utah State Senator representing represent-ing Beaver and Millard Coun- ties. Thorpe was born in Milford August 19, 1923, and attended the Milford schools, graduating graduat-ing from Milford High with the Class of 1941. He enlisted in the U S Air Force, and served in the European Euro-pean Theatre from 1942 to 1946. He attended Snow College at Ephraim 'from 1946 to 1948, and was student body president presi-dent and valedictorian of his graduating class. In 1948 he enrolled at George Washington University Univer-sity Law School, graduating in 1950 with an L.L.B. degree in Law. In 1946 he married Norma Michaelsen. They have five children. Mr . Waddingham, specializing special-izing in irrigation and water law, has been active in promoting pro-moting water development in Utah. He is Delta City Attorney, At-torney, and is Bar Commissioner Commis-sioner from the Fifth Judicial District to the Utah State Bar Association. He is a member and past president of the Delta-West Millard Kiwanis Club and past vice president of the Delta Jaycees; Post 135 of the American Legion ; director of Millard County Industrial Development De-velopment Association and of the National Highway 50 Association. As-sociation. In 1957 Mr. Waddingham received both the local (Delta) and Utah State Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce Distin -guished Service Award, given for outstanding service to community and state. He is a member of the L D S Church. |
