Show Beaver B P W Lauded For Cemetery Work Beaver's Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women's Club, active for some months on a cemetery project aimed at the ultimate perpetual care sign-up of all non-resident cemetery lot owners, own-ers, has progressed so satisfactorily satisfac-torily in their work that the Beaver City Council recently instructed a letter of commendation commen-dation to be addressed to members mem-bers of the club. In carrying forward the work, the ladies first must learn the identity and address of relatives of deceased persons buried in the older sections of the cemetery, ceme-tery, which often requires writing writ-ing dozens of letters. After they have located the relatives, the ladies explain Beaver City's perpetual care arrangement, and offer the perpetual care agreements agree-ments for signature. The letter, written by Cemetery Ceme-tery Chairman James G. Williams, Wil-liams, follows: Mrs. Hazel Stapely, President Beaver B P W Dear Mrs. Stapley: On behalf of the Mayor and the City Council, and of the people of the community, I wish to take the opportunity to express ex-press our gratitude for the results your organization is obtaining in the magnanimous task you undertook in the Cemetery Beautification Project. It is very unlikely that you people realize the extent of the progreiss you are making. Not a day lapses that I am not contacted contact-ed by people who are earnestly interested in your project. Some of these people have not been contacted by your organization as yet, but have been caught up in the wave of enthusiastic pride that your project has created cre-ated in regards to our cemetery. People who have heretofore never shown any interest in their own cemetery lots have now taken the attitude that they must be cared for immediately. I very much doubt that the City of Beaver could undertake the task as you have. Those of you who are actively engaged in it, know that a whole battery of extra clerical employees would be required to do the research re-search work you have done. Our financial budget would not permit per-mit the hiring of such a group. It will be appreciated if you will convey our sincere thanks to the entire membership of your organization, and especially es-pecially to the committee in charge, whose members are giving so freely of their time and effort. The members of the B.P.W. must undoubtedly derive de-rive a great deal of satisfaction from these results. It is hoped the project will be seen through to completion. Very cordially yours, i JAMES G. WILLIAMS, ' Chairman, Beaver City Parks Commission. |
