Show included a number of Miners-ville Miners-ville students. Madalyn Eyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Eyre, was also on the birthdav list Friday. The Senior Scouts are collecting collect-ing rags to be sold to replenish their treasury. Visitors in Cedar City this week included Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and Mrs. Lynnea Marshall. Senior class members of the Beaver High School canvassed the town this week selling all-occasion all-occasion cards to gain money to finance a trip to Las Vegas on Senior Sluff Day. Recent visitors to Las Vegas were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Jameson. Jame-son. They were welcomed callers call-ers at the 'following homes: Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine DeMille and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clothier. Mr. and Mrs. Jameson attended attend-ed district meetings of the Stake Sunday School representatives held in Salina last Sunday. Inadvertently omitted last week was praise for the box lunch social held at the school under the direction of instructor Joseph Haycock, of the 7th and 8th grades. The gymn was appropriately ap-propriately decorated by the boys. Enjoyable music for the dance was furnished free of charge by Harold Baker and sons assisted by Ray Davis on the drums. The box lunches were auctioned off as were cakes donated do-nated by parents. The purpose of the social was to raise funds to promote a trip to the BYU and the U of U and other points of interest in Salt Lake City by these grades before the termination termina-tion of school. Those who attended the function func-tion were impressed with the old fashioned fun and cordiality which brings out the good in all. THI WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By EMILY GILLINS Relief Society Observes Birthday In commemoration of the M.wch 17 observance of the birthday of the Relief Society, organization members and their partners were feted at a dinner dance social Monday evening in the recreation hall of the church, with President Nettie Myers presiding. Other officers are Mrs. Gladys Myers, Mrs. Ilene Jameson, counselors and Mrs. Virginia Marshall, - secretary. Eighty-two persons were present. Following the lovely hot dinner, din-ner, a program ensued. Master of ceremonies was Mrs. Effie Marshall. The tables, decorated by Mrs. Merle Bradfield assisted by Mrs. Vivian Marshall and Mrs. Ilene Jameson, were resplendent in colors of blue and gold crepe paper arrangements. Ladies who prepared and served the delicious ham dinner were Mrs. Vera Carter, Mrs. Wilma Davis, Mrs. Lola Bonn, Mrs. Bonnie Myers, Mrs. Sue Davis and Mrs. Gladys Myers. Parent visiting week has just been concluded. Mrs. McKnight, principal, reports that work is progressing nicely and the general gen-eral attitude of students and teachers is good. A program will be presented at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon under the direction of Mrs. Berniece Gillins. The medical examinations of the fourth and seventh grades was completed Tuesday. Mrs. Jane Blackner and children child-ren of Cedar City are visiting at the home of Mrs. Hattie Myers I Mrs. Myers condition is improved. im-proved. For the benefit of out of town readers, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thompson are now living in Salt Lake City where Mr. Thompson has employment. Their dairy cows were purchased from them by their son, Leon. Mrs. Dorothy Johnson and sons visited her parents for several days while her husband was in Salt Lake City on business. Mrs. Effie Marshall is driving an attractive new automobile. Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock, joined by Mr. and Mrs. Mac Armstrong of Cedar City drove to St. George on Sunday. Recent visitors at the home of the Murdocks were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock of Salt Lake City Mrs. Arline Parkinson, and Mrs. Nellie Osborne of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Ruth Knight and Mr. and Mrs. Rachel Hunt were in Arizona for several days vacation recently. Mrs. Gertrude Marshall cared for Terry, son of the Knight's. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mathews and Mrs. Ward Perry of Cedar City visited at the home of Mrs. Mary Ellen Mathews on Sun. Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Carter were in town on the week end attending to business concerning rental of their home to Mr. and Mrs. Max Carter, Their grandson, grand-son, Melvin, accompanied them and remained at the home of his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bonn. Mrs. Bohn will travel home with the lad via train in several days. i Birthday parties honored the following persons! during the week: Brad Davis, 8, son of the Ray Davises; Jackie Bonner, 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob ; Bonner; Elaine Evans, 12, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Arshel Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Greg Malfoy of Pasco, California, friends of the Bill Daltons, spent three days here visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Don Heslington of Salt Lake City are parents of their third son. Mrs. Lucy Williams Wil-liams is with her daughter assisting as-sisting with the new grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Holdaway and family are moving to Cedar City where Verl has employment. employ-ment. Mrs. Ethel Mathews has been released from the hospital in Sat Lake City and the family is anxiously hoping she will be able to return home soon. . Mrs. Lucille Lamb and sons accompanied her husband to Pioche, on .the week end. Mrs. Dalton Fails is now at home after being confined to the Beaver County Hospital following fol-lowing major surgery.
