The family of Mrs. Alba Gill-ins Gill-ins presented the program in Sunday evening church services. Those taking part were Mr. and Mrs. Clarenee Gillins who gave talks in connection with their stake missionary work. Mrs. Gillins recalled instances in her life where her faith has been the sustaining factor. A music- THIS WEEK IN ' MINERSVILLE By EMILY GILLINS (Held over from last week) K;r ' Gillins son of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Gillins celebrated his ninth birth 'anniversary on Saturday and invited his many friends to a birthday party at his home. Kenell Eyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre, observed his fifth birth anniversary on Saturday. Sat-urday. His mother arranged a party in his honor. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Eyre, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hollings-head, Hollings-head, Mrs. Frieda Wood, Mrs. Bernice Gillins and Mrs. Merle ! Bradfield motored to Richfield and Monroe on Saturday where they visited several elementary schools seeking ideas for planning plan-ning the Minersville school, to be built in the near future. Visits to other Southern Utah schools are on the agenda. This committee met Monday evening even-ing to discuss and outline plans. Mrs. Carla Eyre joined her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson in a trip to Cedar City on Saturday. e Mrs. Lynnea Marshall and two children accompanied her father, Bob Nowers, to Salt Lake City over the weekend visiting with relatives. ' Mrs. Ethel Mathews is slow-' - dar City and Mrs. Jackie Muir of I Kearns and their grandchildren. - Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fothering-ham Fothering-ham of Springville, Utah were visitors a fe c'ays this week at . the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hollingshead. Mrs. Gladys Myers was hostess host-ess to several parties this week, the occassion being her birthday. On Saturday she served dinner to her family; Mr. and Mrs. Art Myers of Kerns; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Myers, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Smith of Beaver. On Wednseday guests were Mrs. Alta Kelsey, Mrs. August Marshall Marsh-all and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bonn, a Bill Bradsnaw attended funeral fun-eral services on Tuesday for his sister, Mrs. Sarah Robinson. Accompanying Ac-companying their father were Mrs. Jetta Barnes and Mrs. Bernice Ber-nice Ashley. ) J . al number was given by Mrs. Penny Patterson and Richard Gillins and a song by Merle and Emily Gillins, DonnaMoser, Joanne, Carla and Erma Eyre, accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Truman. Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Dotson and family went to Salt Lake on the holiday weekend to be with relatives. Mrs Ilene Gray suffered a broken rib while at work in Mil-ford Mil-ford on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robinson and girls motored to St. George on Friday to visit at the George Corbridge home where Mrs. Cor-bridge Cor-bridge has been ill, and also a sister, Mrs. Etta Rollins, who observed ob-served a birthday recently. Bryant Eyre had the misfortune misfor-tune to catch his hand in the washing machine wringer on Friday. No bones were brok-1 en but he has a badly bruised I hand. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Eyre returned home Tuesday from a three week visit to Whittier, California. Mrs. Joanne Eyre has been caring for the two children of her sister, Mrs. Glenna Osborne Os-borne during the latter's recent re-cent hospitalization. 9 Let's support the seventh ixnd eighth grades this Sat. Mrs. Mary Gillins, Marian and Keith, accompanied her mother, Mrs. Edna Crosby and her sister, Joy and children to Grand Junction Junc-tion during the week where they visited a sister and family. Mr. Walter Pearson celebrated his 80th birthday on the 25th with his immediate family. A lovely ham supper was served. His son Ralph, presented him with gift of a television set. The Relief Society, under the direction of Mrs. Nettie Myers, president, will present an outstanding out-standing program Sunday evening even-ing depicting the building of the Reiief Society building in Salt Lake City from the gathering of funds to the final completion thereof. Narrators will be Mrs. Anna Rae Carter, Mrs. Nettie cvcuui,? in me dux i,uncn Jamboree. A good program, and evening of entertainment is slated. Tickets are at a minimum min-imum for the men and admission admiss-ion 'for women is a box lunch for two. Proceeds from this affair will be used to finance an educational tour to the campuses of the BYU and the U of U this spring. Instructor of these groups is Mr. Joe Haycock. Visitors at the Doug Blackburn Black-burn home over the weekend were Mr. & Mrs. Val Thompson Thomp-son of Tooele, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christensen of Ce- myers ana James yre. Others I taking part are Mrs. Edith Bradfield, Mrs. Alta Kelsey, Mrs Effie Marshall, Mrs. Lola Bonn, and Mrs. Merle Bradfield. Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers will operate oper-ate slides of beautiful colored pictures. Mrs. Lynnea Marshall is conducting the Singing Mothers Moth-ers accompanied by Mrs. Bonnie Myers. An evening of worthwhile worth-while entertainment. Congratulations to the ambitious am-bitious residents who are cleaning clean-ing their premises, taking advantage ad-vantage of the warm spring-like days. |
