Delbert Wright awarded "our" stars. Leland Johnson, Delbert Wright, John Enunett and Frank Robinson need no introduction to the students as debators, but they do deserve mention of their work. Robert Newman presented pins for first year, a ring for Delbert's two years and a fountain pen to John for three years. Now come our heroes of physical strength. In these men can be seen the real element which brings out the meaning of the "I'urple and White." Purple sweaters with a block white "W" were given to the following football men by Cora: Dan Hickman, Claude Lindsay, Sid Wilcox, Stewart Halliday, Robert Newman, Delbert Wright, Rollo Watkins, Bruce Parry, Ray Ballan-tyne, Elijah Clawson, Elmer Davis, Eugene Barnes, Cyril Ekins, John Price, Fred Plinckley, Sherm Couch and Frank Douglas. John Emmelt presented the orators awards for the two oratorical contests. They are: Junius Tribe, pin; Gladys Green, pin; Robert Newman, pin; Delbert Wright, ring; Ruth Scowcroft, ring. Probably the best known of any of our honor students are the basketball lions, and foremost among these is Shanty, who for four years has so ably represented Weber that this year he was presented with a gold medal. Shanty is a true athlete and Weber will feel a keen loss when is is gone. Marjorie presented a white sweater with a purple block "W" to the following: Dan Hickman, Bruce Parry, Rollo Wat-kins, Vernon Hill, Sherm Couch, Lawrence Budge, Bob Newman and Sid Wilcox. As the most efficient student in Weber Delbert Wright was present ed with the efficiency medal given by the preceding years' editor of the Acorn and student body president. Delbert has proved himself worthy of such a medal and the students congratulate him. All the honor men were invited to the banquet given by the Domestic Science girls at 6 o'clock.
