When we glance about us, and observe the development of civilization we realize what an important part all types of engineering play in the building up of our great world. Then we look with interest towards the engineers and their work in Weber college.Although the group is smaller than other organizations, the boys have cooperated and worked together to become a dynamic factor in school life. Coach Stevenson, the director of the engineers, has aided the boys might ily in their work with fundamental' and application. And the engineers have responded by accepting responsibility and by working diligently. Socials among themselves and some when the "fairer" sex has attended have at all times been impressive. With such a president as Frank Wool-ley, the Engineers with their spirit oi loyalty should remain one of Weber's outstanding organizations. During the past twelve weeks, the business department of Weber, under the supervision of Dr. Hurst, and Miss Denning, has evolved into an organization which now plays an important part in the school activities. Recently the department organized and selected officers. Elman Wood- is vice-president. The organization is j planmng to sponsor a dance in the near future. Watch this department for bigger and better activities in the spring quarter. W Wally Manning Enters U. S. A. C. Wally "Dog Ears" Manning, athletic manager of wildcat teams for the past three years has enrolled at Utah State Agricultural College for the spring quarter. Wally played substitute on the Weber football team last fall and was one of the gridders who made, the trip to the Hawaiian Islands. His record as athletic manager has been one of consistent caliber and we wish him luck in whatever endeavors he pursues up north. Lowell Romney, head coach at the Aggie lair, to request his resignation in face of the opinion that he was not receiving the support of the students and Logan townspeople. The editorial said that while "our conquests outnumber our defeats " during the time Romney has been here athletics at the school have been '"on the domnhill trail in recent years." Asserting he believed a change in the coaching staff would bring improvement, Fonnesbeck continued "Dick Romney doesn't receive the support of the students nor that of the athletes'; The townspeople are not wholeheartedly behind him in his endeavors. "These facts are instrumental in lowering our athletic standing, and we believe our only means of gaining the lost support is to secure a new head coach. There is no animosity between Smiling Dick' and us. SERVED WELL "Coach, we know you have served Utah State to the best of your ability and your services are appreciated. However, lacking student support, you should m justice to yourself, relin quish your position and seek one else where. "Let my records stand for themsel ves," Romney said in reply.
