Serve as a committee chair of National Awareness Campaign on campus. 2. Work with other students to create meaningful events and informational resources for awareness campaigns such as breast cancer awareness, sexual assault awareness and domestic violence awareness. 3. Generate flyers and posters for the events. 4. Facilitate student involvement across campus. Perform office duties such as answering the phone, photocopying, filing and other office responsibilities. Research assistant - Assist faculty with the research project "Effec tive Student-Teacher Practices in Early Learning Training Programs." Responsibilities include conducting observational data collection in preschool and kindergarten classrooms on and off campus. Ballet accompanist - Accompany ballet classes Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30-10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Signpost features reporter - Individual will complete assigned stories, assist editor as needed. Individual will gain experience needed to become an editor of a section. Must take COMM 2890 course. Hours vary, pay is a stipend. After-school sci ence program assistant (chemistry) -Assistant will develop two one- hour, chemistry-specific, hands-on activities and teach them as part of an after-school science program in up to 10 local junior high schools. One activity will be taught on a Tuesday and the other activity will be presented on Thursday of the same week at the same school. The same two activities will then be taught at up to 10 different junior high schools in the area during different weeks in the fall semester. Students must be available on Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5 p.m. every week for 10 weeks during the fall semester. The assistant will be paid for the hour of instruction, as well as the half hour before and half hour after each session. The assistant will also be paid for 10 hours to develop and administer pre- and post-activity assessments. Botany laboratory/ greenhouse assistant - Lab/greenhouse assistant will assist the lab manager in care of the greenhouses and botany labs. Greenhouse duties include, but are not limited to, watering, cleaning and plant propagation. Lab responsibilities include, but are not limited to, washing laboratory glassware, organization and inventory of supplies, with the opportunity to assist in the preparation of chemical solutions and lab setup depending on experience and willingness to learn. 10-15 hours per week. After-school tutor at Vae View Elementary - Tutor will help supervise students in our after- school program. Our program serves at-risk youth in grades K-6. This includes reading and math tutoring during daily homework time, working with students individually or in small groups, planning and directing activities. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 3:30- 5:30 p.m., and Fridays, 1:30-6 p.m. Location: Vae View Elementary, 1760 W 1600 N., Layton, UT 84041. Must be work-study eligible. After-school tutor at Holt Elementary - Tutor will help supervise students in our after- school program. Under the supervision of the director and in cooperation with the teachers, tutors will assist in the supervision and instruction of students in providing a positive learning environment that allows for students' personal, social and intellectual development. This includes reading and math tutoring, supervising activities, working with students in small groups, and working with students individually. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 3-6 p.m., and Fridays, 1-6 p.m. Location: Holt Elementary, 448 N. 1000 W, Clearfield, UT 84015. Must be work-study eligible. Art Elements customer service (WSU Campus Stores) - Work as team member in both the Art Elements store and Frame Shop. Will work closely with customers, faculty and students. Must provide outstanding customer service, be motivated and a self-starter. Some lifting and working with wood tools is possible. Must pay attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure. Creating an inviting experience for all customers is a must, as well as the ability to multitask. Daily tasks will include, but are not limited to, assisting customers with framing orders from start to finish, cashiering, making drinks and cleaning. Preference maybe given to applicants who are able to work a 4-5 hour block between the hours of 10:30am and 5:30pm.
