Attempted robbery foiled by gunwielding salesman When the 19-year-old would-be robber pulled his .25 caliber gun from his pocket, he was probably surprised to be confronted by salesman Greg "Lumpy" Lambert's slightly larger .38-caliber barrel. Lambert said Kane Stackhouse walked onto the car lot Saturday in Knoxville, Term., looking for a 2005 Ford Focus, and the salesman became suspicious when Stackhouse seemed strangely uninterested during the test drive. When the sales paperwork was pulled, Stackhouse also drew his gun, presumably to demand money. But he didn't get the chance, as Lambert was ready for the draw, and beat Stackhouse to the punch. "I think we probably leveled our sights close to the same time," Lambert said. He said he had the drop on Stackhouse, and the suspect said he did not want any trouble. He fled, but left behind his drivers license. He has charged Sunday with attempted aggravated robbery. Iraqi's educated targeted by kidnappers Gunmen kidnapped several dozen employees at a government research institute Tuesday morning in Baghdad. Following the incident, the minister of higher education shut down the Iraqi universities nationwide until security improves. It is unknown how many people actually kidnapped. Educated Iraqis, including doctors and nurses, have recently been a prime target for kidnappings. Microsoft plans to eventually add a videosharing feature as well as release a model that has cell-phone capabilities. Immigrants arrested in the United States are now able to be held by authorities indefinitely. The Justice Department said a new anti-terrorism law being used to hold detainees in Guantanamo Bay also applies to foreigners captured and held in the United States. Current prisoner Ali Saleh Kahlah Al-Marri, a citizen of Qatar, was arrested in 2001 while studying in the United States and represents the first detainee inside the United States to come under the new law. He has been labeled an "enemy combatant," a designation that, under a law signed last month, denies the right to challenge their detention in federal courts. IEIGO.
