Quality's up at art exhibit By Scott Summerill Managing Editor The Artists and Authors Memory Lane Reception, held Wednesday night in the Union Building, was one of the best yet. Director of alumni and special services Edie Hester coordinated the exhibit of photographs, paintings and books and articles by WSC alumni, faculty and staff. "It's one of the better quality exhibits we've had," she said. Hester said there were more entries in this years exhibition than in the past, mainly because it was opened to the faculty and staff for the first time. "There were more entries on the author side," she said. "It stayed about the same from artists." Approximately 50 people came to the reception to view the assorted works, which is the about the norm, according to Hester. "We were a little disappointed that not many of the authors and artists themselves showed up," she said. Only two were able to attend. Hester expressed hopes that both attendance and exhibits will be on the rise in the future. "We hope more will come when they find out this is a quality exhibit," she said. Fii. Oct. 28 & Sat.
