Show theorts SIGNPOST May 7. 1982 Page 5 RDT spotlights 'Acquisitions Utah The Repertory Dance Theater will present the final concert of its 1982 season, "Recent AcquisitionsUtah," with three performances May 7 and 8 at Kingsbury Hall. This concert will be a showcase of works produced by Utah choreographers and will also mark the first forma! concert collaboration between RDT and the Salt Lake Chamber Ensemble, which will be providing the musical accompaniment.Over the years, RDT has assembled an impressive collection of choreography, including works by some of the greatest names in modern dance. However, RDT has always been committed to the discovery and nurturing of young, talented choreographers. Many of these artists have later achieved national recognition, partially through the professional encouragement RDT has provided to them. The "Recent Acquis-tionsUtah" concert will highlight this aspect of the Repertory Dance Theater when works by five choreographers who have worked in Utah during the past decade will be presented. In addition, RDT's commitment to artistic collaboration will again be evident when dance is combined with the excellence of the Salt Lake Chamber Ensemble, whose members are all professional musicians with the Utah Symphony. The Salt Lake Chamber Ensemble has provided its services to RDT twice in the past; at the Utah Arts Festival and for RDT's fundraiser last spring. The Salt Lake Chamber Ensemble will open the concert with the final movement of Telemann's "Paris Quarted number 1 in G Major". The first dance work of the evening will be former RDT company member.
