Show sports SIGNPOST April 2, 1982 Page 7 Track team will host ISU, Aggies in big meet The Weber State men's Track team will host a trianglar meet Saturday with Idaho State and Utah State at Wildcat Stadium. Last week the Wildcats lost out to the Bengals from ISU in the Weber State Track and Field Invitational, with Utah State coming in third. The Wildcats and Bengals won 11 of 18 events in last week's meet, with Weber coming away with five first place honors and ISU taking six. However, according to head Wildcat coach Chick Hislop, there will be some changes for the 'Cats that could make the difference this week. "Last week we gave away some garbage points in the shot-put and the discus and that allowed ISU to take first place in the invitational," said Hislop. "This week we are going to put athletes in events that will give us some points and hopefully help us avenge the lost from last week." The Wildcats will be led by the five individual winners from the invitational. Shawn Don-will try to repeat his win of last week in the 110 meter high-hurdles in which he set a meet record with a time of 14.2. He will also run in the 400 meter hurdles, and the 400 and 1600 relays. Rex Hohnholt, who set a new meet record in the steeplechase, will not be entered in the steeplechase this week but will try his luck in the 800 and 1500 meters. Jeff Swanger will try to defend his title in the javelin and will be entered in the discus and shot-put. Swanger will also go after top honors in the long jump. Bruce Perry and Craig Fletcher will be trying to repeat their victories from last week for the Wildcats. Perry, who won the 100 meter dash last week, will be entered in that same event along with the 200 meter and the 400 and 1600 relays. Fletcher, who has picked up the nickname of "Mr. Consistency," will once again try to win the 800 meter run, an event he has won in the three meets with identical times of 1:52.7. Bengals coach Norm Tucker was impressed with his team's showing last week and has not planned on any changes for this week's meet. Idaho State will rely on Jim Horner in the triple jump along with speedster Mark McGavish. Sprinters Glynn Osborn and Ron Delaney along with miler Tracy Harris will all be trying to repeat their victories from last week's meet. Do Spelling erors drive you nut's?
