All the gridders will be ready for next fall's campaign, although several are doubtful for next week's Intrasquad game. Spring football --5 broken arms Weber State Spring Football Practice, now in its third week, has. been progressing smoothly according to head Coach Dick Gwinn except for an unusually high number of broken arms. To date, five Wildcat Grid players including last year's best quarterback, Bobby Martin have broken their arms during spring practice. . Coach Gwinn says he can never recall seeing that many broken arms at one time on the same team. Although he can't fully explain the why so many broken arms, Coach Gwinn says that such things just seem to happen all at once in streaks. v He believes that the broken arms will have "no direct effect in terms of the players opportunities or abilities to play" next fall. But of course they have missed a portion of spring practice. Speaking of the entire football squad, Coach Gwinn says: "We've really had an excellent practice attitude" and "the kids are trying to learn." Practice ends May 22. Intramurals The Intramural Spring Outing will be held on May 20th. .At Round Valley Golf Course. All students are invited for a day of fun, golf, and a barbeque for the price of $2.50. Competition will be matched in four man teams and also in Scotch mixed foursomes. Winners will be decided on over all strokes along with other awards for individual efforts. Tee times are between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. and the barbeque and awards will begin around 3:30. All those wishing to participate must have their money into the Intramural office by the 18th of May. For those who don't golf but like to have fun there will be frisbee contests. Weber State's Golf Team scored a 28V4-4M! dual match victory over Idaho State University Wednesday in Pocatello. Weber's Brad Stone copped the medalist title by shooting 72. ISU's best performance was a 75 by Dave Wolfenbarger. Other WSC scores ranged from 73-77. Wolf Pack Classic Next Week The match played on Pocatello's Highland golf course was the 'Cats last scheduled dual competition of the year. Monday (May 17) and Tuesday (May 18) the Wildcat Linksters play in the Wolfpack Classic at South Lake Tahoe. Teams entered in the Wolfpack Tournament include ten golf powerhouses. Some of the ten are: Stanford, Nevada-Reno, Utah State and Cal-Berkley. Expect NCAA decision Friday May 14th at 10 a.m., Weber's Golf Team expects to receive an NCAA decision on whether or not they will be chosen for postseason play. There's a 50-50 chance for Weber's being chosen, WSC Coach Mac Madsen says, since the choice is pretty well between Arizona University and Weber. Utah, at first considered in the decision, is probably out of the running. TENNIS ANYONE?
