Big Sky watchers reversed last week's trend and selected defensive performances as the outstanding performers in the Qonnars heed Kortb to Idaho The harriers of Weber State enter their fiercest competition of the season as they participate in the Fifth Annual Idaho State Invitational Cross Country Meet in Pocatello on Saturday. The five mile trek will feature strong teams from the Big Sky Conference as well as the Western Athletic Conference. Schools vying for top honors will include Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah State University, University of Montana, Montana State University, Idaho State University, Boise State College, Colorado State University, University of Wyoming, Ricks College, and Weber State College. BYU is favored to cop the team title as they have excellent balance and a strong one-two punch featuring Sam Francis and Richard Reid. Defending Big Sky champion for the past two years, Montana, , has steeplechaser and second ' place finished in the BSAC meet last year, George Cook as their premier threat. Weber is coming off of a 17-44 pasting of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas last Saturday. The Cats placed seven men in the top nine places to snatch the win in Las Vegas. Freshman Al Yardley posted the second best . time ever on the five mile course and he won the individual honors. Running behind Yardley this week are JC transfer Larry Thorderson, frosh Danny Dean, and sophomore letterman Dan Walker.
