Dr. Hobbs To Talk Before WSC Today On Fungi Traits Today at 11:10 the Life Science division will present an assembly in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Dr. Le Grand Hobbs will present a lecture entitled Fungi Friend or Foe. He will also present with his lecture a colored film which will last about 20 minutes.' For some variety in the assembly, Dr. Emeron Jenson will give a number of vocal solos and Dr. Whitney Young will give a humorous reading. Mary Clarke Hayes, wife of Dr. Hayes of the Life Science division, will give a med-ly of piano tunes after which the staff of the Life Science division will be introduced. All students who are taking any Life Science classes are expected to be in attendance. Saf. and Sun. The 47 piece orchestra left yesterday morning and will return to Ogden this Saturday."Their first concert was presented before the Highland High stu-dentbody yesterday. The orchestra then went yesterday afternoon to Roosevelt, Utah to perform. Weary from their trnsy day, they spent that evening in Craig, Colorado. Today they will play in Craig and Grand Junction, Colorado.Their concerts will include the Menelssohn's Symphony No. 4 in the No. 4 movement; Bach's Concerto No. 1 in C major, performed by violinist Lynda Slater and Doug Swenson on the oboe; Pa-vana paur line Infante De'fante by Maurice Ravel and pianoist Cathy Guernsey will play Concerto No. 3 by Beethoven. "We hope it will turn out to be an annual event for the orchestra because these concerts will help acknowledge Weber State's music department to the public," noted Mr. Donald Threlkeld, Weber State's orchestra conductor. "5? 15?tf School Honors Dorm Leaders The Inter-Residence Council is composed of 12 resident students and two advisors. This body serves as the student representation with the college administration. Members of this council serve on Hie Union Building expansion committee and also on the Residence Halls expansion committee. In addition to the several hall functions held this year the Snow Basin Party and the scholarship banquet and dance to be held on April 30 are the annual functions. The residence halls association homecoming float vron first place in the special events competition, provided added entertainment at the Songfest, and has assisted with the theatre and drama programs held in the Fine Arts Center. The intramural program has added' to the activity of the resident students and. the teams entered have won several plaques and trophies. - The addition of residence halls to the Weber State College campus has had a positive influence on the community and the development of student morale on the campus. Choir To Present The Symphonic Choir will hold a Memorial concert Friday and Saturday, May 21 and 22 at 8:15 p.m. in the new Fine Arts Center. All proceeds will go towards the Glen L. Hanson Scholarship Fund which is being started by the choir this year. The money will then go for the benefit of the college students, said Dorothy West, secretary of the Choir, and it will be to their advantage to attend. This fund is being started in memory of Glen L. Hanson who started the choir and who was director for 18 years. Choir director, Ron Christen-son, is one of the outstanding tenor soloists of the state': The orchestra will also participate in this program which will include folk songs, opera selections, and choreographed light music. There will also be special numbers by soloists and different group ensembles. All lighting equipment in t h e Fine Arts Center will be used. TOMORKUW ONLY!
