The winners of this contest were the Independents with the Faculty and the Funsters tying for second place. Viz We Tried OUR BOBBLE BROKEN The bubble was broken! Weber's winning streak of four straight was broken last Saturday when Mon- siJ N"' ; tana State came to town and clawed the W.S. team, 26-8. Under a steady drizzle of rain, the M.S. Bobcats scored in the first quarter by running through and around the Weber line for the first tally of the game on a three-yard plunge by Nicholsen. The visiting eleven scored again in the second quarter when Montana State's Finnel sped 9 yards. Later in the same period the speedy Bobcats shook Bob Gibbon loose on a quarterback pitch out for 71 yards and a 20-0 half-time lead. (Continued on Page 6) imecoming Weber State College Alumni and students, working together, presented one of the best parades in Ogden's history.Hundreds of dollars were spent by social clubs, classes and special groups. The floats were superior to any of the past years. Excelsior and Phoenix were top contenders for the sweepstakes trophy. Excels was presented with the trophy and Phoenix was given first in men's division. The Excels float has as its main theme a backdrop of the seal of the college symbolizing industry, knowledge, and science. A wildcat astride the body of the float could be symbolic of Weber's athletic power. The artistic Phoenix float depicted with unusual color and style, the rebirth of the college into a greater glory on its diamond jubilee. - First in women's division was Otyokwa with a green and white Indian congratulations extended to Weber State College. The first prize in the special division went to L.D.S. with their higher education beginning with a freshman and ending with a graduating senior. Other floats in the parade were entered by L.D., whose 75 years of smooth sailing with Captain Miller at the helm, had to take a bow in originality. Sharmea, T.K., the Sophomore Class, WIA, the Studentbody, and the queen's float were also entered. Miss Utah, Annette Bates, as well as school officials and alumni were in the parade. It was interesting to see the antique cars and the events that were outstanding in their year in Weber State's history. High school bands and marching units as well as Weber State's band and Colleens added to the atmosphere and effectiveness of the parade.
