Coach Nalder stated, "there are three things a team must have in order to win a ball game. Number one, of course, is the desire to win, this is tops on every coach's list. Number two, the team must have a good idea of what his opponent will and won't do. The fear that you might lose is the third thing to note." "We lacked that fear until the second half against Eastern Montana," he went on, that the team finally realized they were in a rough spot and made the best of it whe'n they drove from their own three yard line to the first touchdown of the game. In Coach Nalder's words, "This is the sign of a championship club." He pointed out that Weber won their encounter with the EM Yel-lowjackets last year, 36-33. Eastern Montana was bigger in the backfield and line but the boys proved themselves very well as in the second half they were able to open huge holes for Frank Kaa and Curt Wilker. They afforded brilliant protection for Lynn Smith as he completed 11 of 16 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown. The Weber Booster's Club presents a free showing of all game films every Monday night following every game in room 107 of the Union Building at 7 p.m. Coach Nalder will narrate most if not all films. The Boosters would appreciate a fine attendance at these films. So if you didn't make it to the game last Saturday, plan on being there tonight at 7 p.m. Looking at the statistics of the EM game (statistics were not available for press time from the South-em Oregon encounter), Weber gained 17 first downs to 10 for EM. Total yards for WSC showed 416 gained against 145 for EM. The Wildcats gained "only" 100 yards in the first half while they rang up the remaining 316 yards thanks to Smith's brilliant passing, and the running of Kaa and Wilker. Eastern Montana gained all of their yards on the ground. Lyle Johnston punted three times for a 28-yard average. Both te-ams lost one fumble but WSC fumbled three times to EM's twice. Weber lost 50 yards due to the red flag while EM was penalized 15 yards. Leading ground gainers were Kaa with 96 yards and a 5.6 average1, Wilker with 54 yards and 4.5 yards per carry. Fullback Frank Bentley carried seven times for 44 yards and 6.2 yards per attempt; he also snared two passes for 19 yards. Bentley was injured in the third quarter and was replaced by Marshall Brown who gained 25 yards on the ground and grabbed a 38-yard pass from Smith to set Intramurals Vill Race, Swim, Etc. The traditional cross country race is slated to sound the gun on the annual Men's In-tramurals once more. The Men's Intramurals program is open to all male students on the Weber State College campus. Marv Peterson of the athletic department will be calling the IM shots this year along with his able students co-ordinator and committee. Events scheduled will be cross country race, football, basketball, softball, track, wrestling, ice skating, skiing, paddleball, volleyball, tennis, bowling, swimming, water basketball, and on almost into infinity. Many of the events can be entered by individuals, and others require team competition.Excelsior Men's Club, winner of 11 of the past 13 years, won the IM competition last year. Dick Pruitt gained 37 yards before his injury in the first period. Johnston carried twice for 25 yards. Leading pass catchers were Lynn Corbridge with 3 snares and 26 yards, including a seven-yard pass for a touchdown. Mike Webb made one catch for 11 yards and Ron Leslie grabbed three for nine yards.
