Show May 11, 1951 SIGNPOST Page 3 Awards Given to Majority Of Weber College Coeds Almost every girl enrolled in Weber College was honored last Wednesday night, May 9, at the annual Recognition Banquet, held in the ballroom of the Hotel Ben Lomond. President Dixon was also honored by all girls present. Under the direction of Beverly Johnson, president; Pat Green, vice president; Beverly Deamer, secretary, and Miss Mae Welling, dean of women, the Associated Women Students presented President and Mrs. Dixon with beautiful door chimes for their new home. Important events of the evening was the announcement of next year's officers. They are: Joy Ann Shurtliff, president; DeNece Wheelwright, vice president; Jeannene Garner, secretary. Today you can purchase such articles at the cake sale booth from any Phoenix member. May 19 is the date set for Phoenix' annual Forewall Banquet. This dinner-dance will be held again this year at the Newhouse Hotel in Salt Lake. Officers for next year will be announced at this affair. This is the last time Phoenix members and alumni assemble to gether until next fall, so a big in "It crowd is expected. Russ Rasmussen, who is charge of the banquet, stated, will be the year's highlight Phoenix activities." of Alpha Rho Omega The big occasion for Alpha Rho is a party at Bear Lake, where the members, alumni and their dates will swim', sail, dance, skate, eat and all the other things offered at Bear Lake. The first plans for this trip were scheduled for May 19, but if the local rain (snow) makers don't take it easy, the date will be moved into June. Sharmea Sharmea girls are still knocking on the doors to activities. The Pink Ladies and Otyokwa day, May 8, for an enjoyable eve-squaws turned into mermaids Tues-ning at the Weber Gym. Other activities scheduled will be a canyon party with Phoenix, and a swimming party at Crystal Springs with Chanodo. Skull At the Mardi Gras tonight a little fun has been provided for anyone with a good pitching arm. Skull club got the dunking pool as a concession, and Bob Schow has "contracted with some of the luscious beauties on the campus to compete for a swim. Some of the girls who will oblige are: Annette Bott, June Cliften, Gloria Pratt, Norma Creer, Carol Barker, Pat Andrews, Darlene Powell, Beth Macfarland and Marietta Staples. Delta Phi Quinn McKay was elected president of the Weber chapter of Delta Phi Honorary Fraternity in a chapter held in the Institute last Wednesday. He will replace Roy Hatch who has held the position for the past three months. Quinn will hold the office for the coming school year, and will be in charge of summer activities for the chapter. Other officers in the chapter who are taking office are DeLoss Eggleston secretary and treasurer, Denzil Hansen, historian, and Rowland Larkin as reporter. lota Tau Kappa Climaxing a year of successful events for Iota Tau Kappa mem bers is the Final Banquet, Monday, May 14. The Freshman members, with Doris Brown as chairman, are in charge of this heels and hose affair. Officers for next year will be announced at this time. Iota joined forces with Chanodo for a party at the home of Miss Gertie Stallings in Eden last Sunday.
