Show THE SIGNPOST Page 3 41? caH(faU c$ the Weak Jimmy and Hone finally found the "Rocky Road to Love," but Betty Mac came along and the rocks were just too big. Ah me ! Just another romance on the rocks! Wh-'t delayed the Weber gals "Hope" at the dance the other night? Of course Larhle couldn't have had anything to do with it but we just wondered. Say fellows, how about taking lessons from Professor Childs? He won the heart of many a Weber gal in one easy lesson think what you could do with five The best-dressed co-ed on the campus this week i; Ellen Wilson. These romances are just like Westminster's football players you can't keep them down. The latest arrow shot seems to have pierced straight into DeHart, which makes it Morrin a romance. We wonder why Excelsior doesn't go ahead with their first plans for a float. After all, the alumni would look pretty natural on it with a bottle in each hand! (Soda water, of course !) It looks like the love light is flickering ("out" by the time you read this) as far as Fuzz and Lottie arc" concerned. But don't worry, Harlan, there'll always be a Blaes! "Little Jack Horner Sat in the corner B. O." Bob Bagley Rama : "Why are you making faces at that bulldog?" Betty Mae: "He started it !" "Though life goes on from day to day, The Muse in me is dead. Everything I want to say, Somebody else has said." Wayne Farrell Mom : "How long are you going to be in the bath tub, son?" Orlo: "The same length as I am anywhere else." Bill Cook: "Do you know what an Excelsior breakfast is." Pledge: "No, what?" Bill: "A bulldog, a steak and a quart of wdiiskey." Pledge: "What's the bulldog for?" Bill: "To eat the steak!" Then there's always the thrilling experience we had in Hawaii. We met two hula hula girls who loved the same man, so they pulled straws for him ! Mae West: "Say, tall, dark 'n handsome, I have a new dress with nine buttons on it but I can only fascinate. Why don't you come up and see me sometime?" Butterflies know a lot about flitting but they could certainly learn a lot from Charlene Clark but ah butterflies get honey. It seems to me, Bill Thayne should be saving his money to step Ozzie rather than trying to buy kisses from Nadine Madsen while riding home on the Brigham bus. Merle was elected by popular women's vote out of the five: Dean Williams, Cecil Chris-tenson, Blain Felt, and Bob Bagley, for his sincerity, intelligence, good manners, sense of humor, and ambition. Twenty freshman girls dressed as scrubwomen carrying mops, dusters and brooms, sang a hilarious song to the tune of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles": "We're forever doing housework, Housework that is never through! All the long day We never play. Inside our house we always stay We do our work without delay. Down on our knees, but not to pray. We'll ever be till we decay. We are hunting husbands, Ones who'll wash and scrub. We don't care about his pan. Just give us a muscle-man!" This was all a build-up for the presentation of Merle with an old rustic, wooden bucket and mop. Decorations were an old clothesline in one corner and antique washing machines, tables, and stoves glorified in the spotlight. The wringer rhumba, washtub waltz, scrub bucket swing, dust mop shag, dish pan tango, and the housemaid's knee were gay highlights of the night. Committees in charge were : Phyllis Cardon, president of A. W. S.; Arlene Mitchell, decorations; Marge Jarvis, election; Nadine Mad-son, programs ; . Carlene Lindquist, publicity.
