Show ms MARY AN ANN ROGERS UTAH PIONEER PASSES AA mary ann mayer rogers 90 wid ow ot of david rogers a pioneer of ut ah and also of the dixie mission died wednesday may blay 16 at the home ot of her ber daughter mrs sarah J jane ane bur gess gees of ailments incident to old age she was born at bucyrus Bu cyrus ohio april 9 1833 they removed to N a uvon ill in 1844 IS 4 4 her father purchased a farm at nauvoo but in 1846 was driven out by the mob she came to utah in fit 1848 with her parents and feb 20 1963 19 sa married david rogers in salt lake city in 1861 they were called to help settle the dixie mission mrs birs rogers spent many years ot of her life laboring in the bt st george temple and was an active worker in the organizations ot of the church she lived in her own house and did her own work until a few months ago when she went to live with her daughter she was the mother of nine child ren seven of whom survive her mrs velleda mary alien allen mrs eraz ma mayer burgess david M rogers mrs julia ann alin duncan mrs sarah jahe jane burgess mrs mary elizabeth empey anu and mrs diantha woodbury also 49 grandchildren great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren grandchild as well as a bister sister diantha lollin of salt lake city and a brother george maer of alpine funeral services were more held in the stake tabernacle at 4 p in friday conducted by elder james S jones prayer was offered by bider lider H L reid singing was furnished by the west ward relief society choir and miss bliss mary atkin gave a EL vocal solo the speakers were president david H cannon elder geo B whitney and pres edw H saou each of whom told of the good life of the de parted sister benediction was pronounced by el der IV 0 bentley jr interment was wits made in M the city cemetery the grave being dedicated by elder brig ham jarvis sr it was wad covered with roses and other beautiful flowers flover ff |
