Show RESPECTED PlO pioneer NEER CALLED HE CR mrs cornelia lenzie mcallister McAll lster died at her home in this city december 30 1020 at 8 20 p m she suffered a paralytic stroke on the evening of the 27 and remained unconscious from the next morning until death called her cornelia A lenzi was born in philadelphia adelphia la pa april 13 1844 ft A daughter of martin and elizabeth jane lenzi she with her parents joined the L D S church in phila delp delphia hla coming to utah with her father and brother in 1812 they thoy crossed the plains with ox teams in capt jacob comnes company enduring with fortitude all the hardships incident to that mode of 0 travel in those days arriving in utah they settled at bait salt lake city where they remained until the time of the I 1 move when they went to ephraim they resided at ephraim tor for some time then returned to salt lake city she was a singer of note in her younger days a member of the deseret musical organized by pres brigham young and sang many times at the salt lake theatre she waa was married april 37 27 1867 to john D T mcallister McAll lster in the endow anent house at salt lake city by heber C Kim kimbail baft in 1876 1870 her hus rand was called to bt st george assist in the opening of the temple and was president of the temple for sev eral years afterwards hia his wife and family followed the summer of the next ut year and sister 24 1 cAllister spent the remainder of her life here she t had six children five of whom are living mrs jane moss martin I 1 mrs mr annie whipple and mrs grace sullivan alt all of st george utah aho and wilford L of salt lake city her husband preceded her jan 21 1910 and la is burled buried here A son soil gee L died of at an injury received i MIO working ott on the colorado river niro year ago avo a hild reu tell deceased is survived by 27 grandchildren and 11 great grand children sister ter mcallister McAll lster was loved and respected by all who knew her she waso ascot a cheerful temperament a kind and loving mother and a devoted wife w fe slier her pleasant smile la Is missed b by her large number of friends funeral services were held in the tabernacle saturday jan 1 at 2 p in the speakers were pros pres david H cannon pres edw H snow and pres thomas P cottam singing was furnished by the east ward relief society the numbers including come came ye disconsolate 1 I need thee every hour and I 1 shall we meet beyond the river elder jos T atkin opened the service with i prayer and the closing prayer was of fared up by pres pros geo interment was made in the city cemetery the grave which was covered with ivy and flowers bowers being dedicated by elder henry T atkin |
