Show EDWARD st BROWN CALLED edward at brown died at his residence in this city at 1220 p D m sunday march 21 his health had been poor for ten years and during the past few months had steadily grown worse he had been confined to bis his home homo since dec dee 10 and to his bed the last two weeks during the last week of his life he was unconscious most of the time but occasionally rallied and spoke to his wife edward 11 brown was born in salt lake city january 1 1849 a son of lorenzo and frances crosby brown he came to st george in 1862 and as a young man here en ed in freighting to california anci and salt lake city he was maritea man led to ella J dodge october 20 1869 his wife died january 21 1899 and he again married his second wife who survives him being miss jennie lund of this city he bad had no children by either of these unions deceased took active part in the indian wars in this section of the country principally against the nav agoes he was mayor of the city of st ste george for two terms served as chairman of the board of county commissioners served as a member of the city council and was president of the commercial club when it was first organized berei besides his wife he Is stir survived by one sister mrs sarah he crosby and two brothers benjamin and lorenzo ji all of eager arizona deceased was very highly respect ed he was upright in his dealings with his fellow men a kind consad erate orate husband and a good neighbor funeral services were held in the st george stake tabernacle tuesday afternoon the building was beau decorated and a profusion of flowers covered the casket the speakers were pres edw he snow and pres pros david H cannon bing singing was furnished by the west ward relief society choir mrs hannah pike aa trio and a quartette bor services were conducted by bishop james Mc mcarthur Arthuri interment was made in the city cemetery the grave being covered with beautiful flowers |
