Show aged pioneer called margareta fuhrer died at her borne home in this city ot of general debility on january 13 1919 deceased was born in guttannen Gut tannen bern switzerland september 16 15 1835 and came to america with her par ants in 1849 making their home in new york she was married to henry on the ath ot at july 1853 they had two children when they heard the gospel of the church ot of jesus christ of latter day saints they believed and were baptized they came to utah the next spring baving their oldest child a daughter with its grandparents intending to send tor for her later they crossed the plains with ox teams sister was very sick most all ot of the way which made the trip a hard one she never complained however nor felt to regret the step she had taken as it was tor for the gospels sake they arrived at salt lake in the tall ot of 1860 in 1861 she and her husband were called to dixie left salt lake city with a baby 10 days old and arched here in december 1961 alth the dixie pioneers she suffered the hardships and ati rations that only a dixie pioneer knows but bore it all cheer cheerfully fulli sister was the mother ot of nine children eight daughters and one son ot of those five are living mrs john and mrs B P wulf ansten ot of st george mrs E C olsen of leeds utah mrs sheridan andrus of welser weiser idaho and henry J of delta utah she he is also survived by 48 grandchildren grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren funeral services Bervice 3 were held in the st george stake tabernacle bishop 1 C macfarlane presiding the speakers were pros david IL 11 cannon pres edw H snow and bishop macfarlane the east ward belief relief society choir furnished the singing A beautiful solo was sung suns by mrs J riding the opening prayer was offered by elder brigham jarvis and the closing prayer by elder jos T atkin the grave was dedicated by elder R A morris |
