| Show PLATFORM AND resolutions ADOPTED BY THE republican CITY PRIMARY we the citizens of st george in primary coi bention assembled although ftp meet under the call of the city republican Chi irman and our ticket to answer the requirement of the liw will appear upon an official ballot a republican ticket yet we pledge the nominees of this convention to bo substantial citizens of st george and not representatives of any political party and if elected to office their first duty will be to work for the welfare of st george city its progress and development we pledge the nominees of this convention if elected ast 1st to give to the people a just and economical of city affairs and devote such of their time as the vadious offices may re quire to the end that the business of the city may be attended to in a besmen busmen like manner and 2nd that the regular meetings of the city council shall be held during tho business hours of the day and at such a time that any person old or young may meet with the council and attend to any business they may have with the city fathers ard 3rd we promise to provide i sinking fund to be obtained from the revenues of our various public utilities or other source so that as the bonds issued for the installation of such utilities become due that such bonds may be redeemed ath we favor the creating of a drainage district of the west eide of our city or to provide means from other sources to drain that portion of the city so that it may be reclaimed from its present alkali condition and made more habitable as a resident district oth we favor more street and dosing improvement on the new east addition of the city so that those building new homes in that section may have better street and sidewalk 6 h realizing that the growth of the city depends upon our water we to do all in our power to see the completion of the cottonwood reservoir ath wo do th future growth of any city depends nn more modern which conveniences are necessary to the hoilly of the ope we divor alie construction of a sewer system through the busl neris district and to our public buildings justas soon as the financial aid needed can be provided ath we favor the continuing of the side walk plying ath we pledge the nominees of this convention to see to it th it the city water supply 13 measured year ly as the law provides to the end that every user of water may get his ua share we also think that the cites financial report should be published as the law provides so that every citizen may know what disposition is made of the revenues alth we suggest that the elected at the coming election direct their attention to see what il will cost to pipe the cottom water from the reservoir to the and if possible find some means of building the pipe line college men never graduate in a do t by be |
