dark clark co nev and went vent to st thomas and bun ler clerville ville nev along the virgin river in nevada from st thomas to mesquite lies a rich fruit and farming district on the the pirty left bunkerville Bun kerville and went to littlefield anz ariz where they were nere royally entertained on good anz ariz soil by J H reber we looked over oer the virgin river water nater proposition near littlefield Little held and saw possibilities of about acres of land being eventually brought under cultivation there being ample water in the virgin river for that purpose worth of road NN work ork was N as authorized to be bedone done along the virgin river for the benefit of the settlers sett lera living there in mohave it co on june 2 ast 1st we went from littlefield to st george utah over about 50 miles of fearfully feir fully rough road on oil the in e started east from st george and passed through a number of thriving towns in utah leaving the virgin river at it the tow n of hurricane we vve climbed about 2000 ft to top of hurricane plateau and entered dolime county again near short creek where we took a team and continued to moccasin ariz anat passing through a fine farming district where the few settlers are now growing fields of corn wheat barley re rye potatoes and beans corn and wheat produces from 30 to 50 60 bushels per acre ind and near the utah boundary in mohave county lies fully acres of flue fine dry farm land awaiting settlement which would afford homes for fc everal thousand people road work waa nas authorized for the benefit of the settlers in mohave county near short creek and moccasin we returned to st george on the outfitted again on the we left st george and started auth but broke the car and had loretum to return after visiting ed franklin our county ranger and walter brown our former sheriff and ard walker returned from st george by trim and stage na walter r alter brown and I 1 oer overhauled hauled and repaired the car and started again on the arriving at grand gulch mine on the soth the grand gulch anine lies in a rich mineral belt three mines now shipping ore 45 miles from there to st thomas to the east of the grind grand gulch mine is a heavily timbered district around trumbull mountain containing by government report 50 ft of landing standing lumber three san mills are no boft operating there and hauling most following resolution was as by the lion hon board of supervisors bingmin King min in anz ariz jelv 13 1915 IN THE MATTER or PUBLIC LANDS IN THE NORTHERN PART OF MOHAVE COUNTY WHEREAS there la is a great portion of public lands in the northern part of mohave county lying between the colorado river rier and the northern boundary of the state of arizona n aich said lands are adapted adopted to dry farming and other agricultural purposes and WHEREAS the settling of said lands is being greatly hampered by reason of the game fame being and the lines difficult to ascertain and WHEREAS WHERE AS certain settlers of that vicinity hae petitioned tins this board to take some action with reference thereto NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the premise premi seq i BEIT BET RESOLVED that it is the opinion of this board that said lands should be surveyed by the govern ment of the united states at the earliest possible moment in order that the same may be settled on and improved thus redounding resounding redound ing not only to the welfare of this county and and state but to united states as well yell AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the clerk of this board bt be a and is hereby direct
