thein a hearty welcome as well its to get a glad smile of greeting and a vigorous handshake from all of the old members who ullo like themselves were returning to tike take up their books again altho some were missing from front th the ranks others hid had come to take their places so we ie laid the missing ones ba b in our memories and proceeded to get acquainted with our new friends the days dan with our midwinter mid winter students we expect the enrollment to exceed three bundred tho the dixie seems destined to grow groi ie ip gard less sg of politics and the european war election time wis res their hard work nork was appreciated by the stude students for it made things biely for all it has been said tint that this election was wat the most exciting since that of abraham lincoln in 1860 for altho the tile time was very exciting and interesting we all feel that it is ii time to forget party lines and boost for dixie as a whole the classes this year have already alread y become imbued with the real spirit of progression each has effected in organization tint that promises to keep up a spirit of loyalty and enthusiasm that meins means much to the life of the tile school the air is teeming with whisperings and echoes of parties and dances to be held in the nerr ne fr future where the members will vie with each other in making all feel that their particular class is the best fourth year notes the fourth years are not quite so few in number as mas as expected we already have twenty one in our class and arc are expected a few more to start to school soon with ora orton for but they were so hard to obtain but now that we nie have changed colors we ne will prove true to them making them feel it an honor in being used for the class of 1915 third year notes the junior class clas is now organized and in running older we ave aim to be the leading class in school and took tool the first steps along this line when we gave our dance in the academy auditorium last friday night the class showed their loyalty in advertising the dance by wearing caring cards ti beining the class colors and the ano 1618 dance the tile crowd there ii was as the tile largest that had been out since the dat dinc icing irig season opened the auditorium was decorated with the juniors pennants and colors and the indian corner with ith its rugs and camp fire presented a cozy appearance but the dancers were kept too busy to spend much time it delicious punch u wis is sold winch which was wa soon disposed of all went home feeling that the juniors were truly the leading class of the dixie dont forget the senior dance next friday night october oember the first session of court was held oct 20 1914 tho the defendants were winnie edwarda edwardd and andAl alex cx whipple on the charge of peculiarities tint that were so troublesome before and glad to discover that each pach member of the party was a human being with a heart large enough to include love loe and for all we have reason to believe that all are interested in our school and we roust must in work ork to make even ever one proud of it many of the visitors i who come to st george to sep what kind of a place it is come to our school and wo students are glad to have them come we have been highly en pertained this 3 ear by politicians men looking for winter homes and return missionaries from some of these return missionaries we have received firsthand first hand data of the european war one of the most pleasing sights to meet us on our return was the beautiful green lawns surrounding our school building their growth and beauty has been due to the faithfulness s of our custodian custo cut dnn odian who thru tile long hot summer days never forgot to care for them but spent many hours watering weeding cutting and rolling them until now they are among the hobt beautiful fu in our city or so feel the tile ii weary cary students who are permitted to enjoy their coolness after the hours of study in the building
